Subject: SETI & BOINC @ ISRATRANCE FORUM

As most of you might have heard about SETI it is time for us to put our forces together to get some real work done.
I you have a look at the STATISTICS at Boinc you will see how microscopically tiny we all are (from the GTC - Global Trance Community) in relation to the Top Participants and this happens basically because they work in TEAMS.

ISRATRANCE FORUM, with it's 5000+ active 'hi-tek' (mega-tek, ultra-tek, TRANCE-TEK) users is the biggest active community I know of, in a way. The Idea is that we ALL run SETI/Boing TOGETHER under the account of IsraTrance to try to reach the top lists.
IMO This will encourage more isratrance users to join SETI and will be a positive action of our friendly international forum towards the world, in general.
To do so, I have created an account called IsraTrance, I'm no longer running under my own account "IT" and would like to invite everyone to join.

I've got a great plan if someone starts to threaten my position. I'll load/install knoppix linux (amd64 optimized ofcourse) straight to my ram and download linux amd64 optimized boinc client and let it run for a week in a row

The coolest part is thou that Finland is totally wooping Sweden's (a country with twice as big population) ass in the country statistics

BTW the Isra team has already more credits than the republic of Kongo ..and just a little less than Vietnam

The last time I installed Fedora Core 4 I managed to fuck up my computer well enough that total format of hdd was the only option..
That's why I stick to live cds for a while now
besides Knoppix is probably the fastes linux distro in the world when you run it straight from your ram..

Nothing beats a well-configured and kernel compiled Slackware, except FreeBSD and Mac OS X.

Even if it's running straight from your 400Mhz DDR dual channel ram? Knoppix is Debian based..
anyways Isratrance team has now crunched more data than the following countries:
Viet nam (seems like they've got 2 stats for vietnam thou..), Malawi, Fiji, Burkina Faso, The Bahamas, Suriname, Ghana, Madagaskar, Wallis & Futuna Islands, Martinique, Sao Tome & Principe, Solomon Islands, Yugoslavia (??WTF?), Aruba, Sierra Leone, Western Sahara, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Republic of Moldova, Morocco, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Cape Verde, Iraq, Maldives, Senegal, Rwanda, Gibraltar, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bangladesh, Micronesia, Togo, Oman, Swaziland, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia, French Polynesia, Gambia, Mali, Azerbaijan, Kazakstan, Laos, Mozambique, Djibouti, East Timor, Falkland Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Samoa, Belize, Uganda, Guinea-Bissau

btw the team has over taken countries like Namibia, Macau, Uzbekistan.. and again Kongo

Hope I don't piss anyone off... But ratings are a kind of wrong reason to do this, isn't it? And if you're in it for the science, why not help folding proteins and cure cancer - instead of searching for something that isn't there... I mean, if something is out there, it will find us, before their signature show up on our fancy-pants spectograms, and we can decode the meaning... That's what I believe anyway...
