yea man, despite the event getting cut short from the complaints by the neighbors, there were many many positive and unique things happening all over ! I think everyone made the best out of the quiet time ;-) ~

Brad I really appreciate all the help with the deco. I hope the setup made it a little easier.
As the Banners are Dragons. It took a long time to harvest and set the bamboo which I did personally. Of course it was you that taught me how to frame it with some re bar.
The Dream Catcher top center piece took a while too. But with you're added, experienced touch, It all came together nicely.
The bubble wrap for the visuals didn't work quite as good as I had planned. But it did work with the red light coming from the bottom and the black light coming from the top. The String art ended up catching a few people like a Charlotte's Web.
I look forward to working with you again soon. Thanks. |

karmakat, we appreciate you and all the others help w/ deco setup and preparation soo much. i loved the dream catcher and i did like the bubble wrap idea...i think with a lil tweaking here and there that could turn out really nicely lot more fun than the usual! the string art coming out above the stage...most excellent |

all in all i had a good time. the location was very surreal. It has the vibe of a cool hippy commune, but in the middle of B.F.E. (bum fuck egypt) Lots of trees (including very tall bamboo chutes!!), a river, very large grassy clearings for the dancefloor and parking, plus cool little cabins scattered throughout the land.
Hell, they even have a 400 pound pot-belly pig as a pet that just roams around being friendly with the peeps.
I arrived to the location just before sunrise on saturday so i got to hear some good tunes on that big system before having a delicious home-cooked meal and a nap.
Woke up before midnight and got to meet some very cool people from all over the place. You guys travel far to the parties like we do and I commend you for that.
The deco was superb for such an intimate gathering, much more than I anticipated and it made the stage look like the mother ship!
It was very disappointing to have the fuzz show up just 3 tracks into our set (reminiscent of what happened at 28th Day's New Years show) but alas, what are ya gonna do when you have sound complaints from 5 miles away and 7 cop cars out front pushing to roll the place.
after that many efforts were made to revive the vibe so the sound moved into the main mess hall cabin, but again, more noise complaints even just off of the monitors. This was pretty much the end of the loud music so everybody made the best of it and enjoyed each other's company.
Cheers to the folks that made the trek and braved the elements (killer thunder storm sunday late morning!!!!) and also the unfortunate actions of the po-po.
Lots of connections were made, new and old. The deep south has the spirit and I hope you guys can pull off another event in the future.
kudos to mister black, karmakat, jess, and the whole vortex crew for trying to bring something as wild as the trance scene to the sleepy hollows of rural Mississippi.
now where's my goddam calamine lotion, i got freakin tons of mosquito bites, hehe
We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.
