i have to say i enjoyed seeing/meeting everyone. we all made the best of it and all in all i had a good time.
i also have to say karmakat tried his hardest to salvage what was done...lots of love for him and his wife. its too bad he's having to deal with someone else's mess.
the sound was bad...not meant for what was happening. but the sound guys were super nice and helped us a lot with our deco there were no crawfish. none of our crew got paid as promised b/c the people who were supposed to have the money bolted but karmakat and dragon made sure we had enough gas money to get back home. someone stole all of our cigs, some shirts, and some money out of our cabin but karmakat also righted as much of that as he possibly could. the turnout was pretty pitiful...probably because so many people were turned away at the gate for whatever reason...from what i understand it was some people who'd already purchased presales. mostly artists and 10-15 random hippies. the property owners did a great job of keeping the police outside the gate every night. the "party" got moved indoors...then it still got shut down. kept it at about the level you'd play it in your bedroom from there on out.
definitely the first trance party i've been to where shotguns got pulled and people tried choke their mama's... |

I must have missed the shotgun part... Seriously though, I have the utmost respect for Karmakat and his wife. They really went out of their way to try and fix the unpleasant situation, and I tried to make the best of a not too happy situation. It's a shame that drama happened at the party, but hopefully the guys can sort things out and make changes for the future.

yeah you were already gone for the shotgun part...lucky you. the owner came flying out of the cabin in a nightgown w/ a shotgun and screaming because someone showed back up on the property and she was NOT happy. it was....something.
i really can't say enough about everything karmakat did for everyone though. super stand-up guy. |

I'm glad everyone made it back safe!!
I almost kind of wish I had been there, for the adventure. long ass drive though ;-)
if it makes you feel any better, the sound sucked balls at the techno party in Nashville I went to that night, even though the promoter paid a good chunk of money to get Perc to come play while on tour from the UK.... they didn't even realize/attempt to make the subwoofers work until 1:30AM or so... @_@

Well said Mubs ! Those guys ( promoters ) had their hands full from the start and that amount of stress would break anyone at some point ~ I'm not going to comment on any of the negative occurances, but I just want to say that we GREAT time hanging out with all of our regional Trance family and the talented producers from the Lone Star State, West Coast, North Coast and Germany ! =)
Things could always be worse, but everyone made the best out of it, along with surviving the 12 o'clock monsoon that struck the camp ! JEEZuzzz where the hell did that come from !!? I've yet to be camping when it rains so hard that the top to the E-Z up tent fills up like the kitchen sink ! all that had cabins, be very thankful for the solid shelter, b/c us mud-loving tent-campers got slammed !
The setup and deco was excellent and i know all the hard work that went into this event seems like it was all for nothing, but I just don't think that "that" county could handle a Vortex of that magnitude ! lol
Thanks so much to all involved for putting your energies into something we all love so much, in hopes of building a psy scene in a non-psy world ~ My heart goes out to you all !

Very well said!
I had a great time anyway... I mean, of course some brain-invading bass would have been better, but quiet tunes led to some interesting conversation that otherwise might not have happened! It was great to hang out with all of you again, and to meet those of you whom I had not met before. Hope to do it again soon under better conditions!
There were a LOT of people who put a LOT of hard work into the setup/deco for this party. Everything looked fantabulous!! |

Well, I was very happy to get to meet some good people I hadn't had the pleasure until this event.
Friday night was a great night but yea I guess sunday afternoon got a little intimidating for me. Still heard some good stuff though thats always a plus.Maybe The deep south will rise again. I wish them much love and respect! |

I'm glad to see that everyone made it home alright and safe. Despite it all, I had a great time getting to meet everyone. a lot of things happened that were life changing experiences for all. I could've been a lot happier with a few situations but I did the best I could with what I was working with to keep the vibe a good one for all involved. THANK YOU to the guys and girls that came out and helped with the setup. without you guys, things would've been a lot worse. I look forward to seeing my new friends at gatherings to come. I got one more thing to take care of and then I can get some sleep. Good Night! |

Just to explain a little about the shotgun situation for you guys. Andie lost her mother last year in February, so when she heard that he that will not be named, choked his mother, after hearing him disrespecting her to the fullest all weekend. She just simply snapped.
Andie has a bachelors degree in criminal Justice, Masters Degree in Adult Education, a graduate and undergraduate minor in women's studies, And a P.H.D. from the school of HARD KNOX.
So as you can see clearly, she is not a crazy woman. Even with all the time served as a police officer in Mississippi, she has only pulled a weapon on someone twice! And both times were to protect this SACRED LAND!
She apologizes to anyone who was present profusely for her behavior. But put in the same situation, she would do it again.
Her anger was not directed towards anyone other than the one that was causing physical and emotional damage to the land and everyone on it.
I was on my way back up the hill when I heard about what had happened. And actually with the intentions I had at that time, He got off easy! To say the least.
To everyone else, Love and Light from Jess and myself. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. |
