If I'm visualizing what you're saying correctly, you don't need M4L for that. You can load audio into the slots on a drum rack and trigger the audio using a midi channel, and it will be transposed according to what key you press.

it s not the same i think, the plugin would make things more easy cause it ll triger audio at the same place than the midi notes in the timeline + it would react to the size of the midi notes and pitch, workflow would be better and faster than boucing and slicing, it would make something that is a pain to do in samplers very easy ,it ll open lot of possibily with the easy workflow me think. do you think it would be easy to do something like that or it take lot of time for a beginner?

I know of a free audio plugin that you put on an audio track. You then route a MIDI track into the plugin, and the plugin will only allow audio to pass through it when a certain MIDI note is held down. With it, you can, say, feed a bunch of quantized 16th notes into it and it can break a pad audio sound up into a 16th note rhythm. Is that kind of what you're talking about?

In this plugin I'm working on now, I figured out how to manipulate the fold settings on the embedded midi sequencer to only show certain notes according to scales. I attached a menu to this parameter that hosts close to 50 different scales, so for example, if I choose a Major scale, I will only be able to interact with notes in that scale. If I choose a new scale, all notes in the MIDI window not in the new scale will be moved to notes that are.

So basically, you will be able to choose your scale with a menu, and the key can be chosen using a knob. When you pick a scale with the menu, the MIDI window will fold into a 5-octave keyboard showing only notes in that scale.

What I'd like to know is if I can monitor the audio from a separate audio channel(s) within a MIDI plugin. If I can then I can create a mini-mixer section for multichannel synths, such as the Virus TI.

That sounds very useful! especially for people like me that don't know their scales very well Let me know when you finished it

MIDI Note Generator Plugin

*Highly customizable MIDI loop generator plugin.
*Set key, scale (almost 50 to choose from with user scale options added), velocity, note probability, progression, and more.
*Step sequencer automatically folds its keyboard to fit the scale you work in
*Weighted probability algorithms set aspects such as randomization, note variation, and trigger timing.
*Chord and Chaos modes allow you to further evolve your sequence for further improvisational, live, loop generation possibilities.
*Optimized for use with the APC40

Feel free to offer me some feedback!
