So, I've noticed that some plug-ins are asking for a more updated OS then SL, that I'm currently using. Not that it presents a big problem in itself, but wondering here, how many of you out there have upgraded to the last OS and what do you have to say about that experience?

Specially interested in people working with Logic 9 (yes, instead of 10) and if the 32 bit plug-ins are working properly on Mavericks, because not so long ago rumour said you could have some trouble by simply moving to Lion or ML and before I decide what to do with my next rig - a Hackintosh btw - decided to ask for some user experiences here.

Thanks in advance

No problems here with Logic 9.1.8 and 10.9.1, my all 32 bit plugins work the same (like they did on 10.8.5), all the apps, even officially not supported ones, since release till now I guess many active developers did their share of support,
I heard rumors about problems mainly by people who heard/read something that someone wrote I guess in October, exaggerated the case because of 2 apps and so on, many folks that jumped since day 1 like me didn't had much issues, barely some unrelated apps, but that's just me and everyone I know that uses Mavericks for audio

Working like a charm on my custom built PC in conjunction with Ableton Live 9 Suite + PUSH RME Multiface II, no experience with Logic 9 tho

working great logic pro 9 on mac 10.9.1

when you install logic pro 9 it will make you update
then it will works perfect

and all 32bit plug's will works same like it work on
lion and 10.8.5

but i think you should install logic pro x

i don't like it in the beginning
but when i start playing with logic pro x i start love it and all new amazing features

and about the 32bit vst which not working i just replace then with other vst which working similar as 32bit

for example Sylenth1 i replace with
1.Synapse Dune
2.sonic Academy synt Ana
3.reveal sound spire

you can do similar stuff like Sylenth1 with this vst

and so on           -------------------------------------------------

Yeah, things seem to be better by now. Have a MBP with 10.9.1 working good with both Logic 9 and X, plus Ableton 9 suite.

But still think Snow Leopard is by far the best and most stable OS for audio work. It's a bloody shame you can't even install it on more recent computers (as you'd be missing a lot of drivers for current hardware and such), but I guess that won't be much of a problem 'cause they seem committed to improve on things.

When I say such things, I mean heavy duty projects with huge track counts - like 130-150 with a lot of processing going. Changing OS almost felt like I was using an older computer for pretty much the same tasks - and computer isn't bad at all. But it's nearly the same today. It could be that more recent processors benefit from new set of instructions that older ones (even powerful ones) can't cope with and the focus has now moved to that... Marketing this, marketing that.

Remember when G5 was the thing? Miss those times XD
