I read the earlier thread on Matrix Reloaded...which seemed to go into movie review....therefore..this new thread...
BTW....are there any other tracks coming out shortly by any killer psy artists with Matrix Reloaded samples in them.....just asking for info...can then look forward to hearing them at a party perhaps. |

please, spare us a million tracks with samples from the matrix reloaded! i'm not sure i can bear it after the unimaginative sample fest that was precipitated by the first film. I mean, come on, there are thousands and thousands of movies out there, many of which will have good samples in them, so why does _everyone_ have to sample the same film?

which is what surpises me tom....i mean after the deluge from flick 1, how come there is no news of any from flick 2. have all the artists consicously stayed away from it....or are there tracks lurking around already waiting to find their way around after tests at a few parties. |

IMO sample stuff from classic movies, which are old and have not been sampled before...
I can garantee you that their will be thousands of people sampling from the matrix reload, and you will just be another one, be inovative.
And as tom said I can't take another matrix samples in track. The first one was OK because it was the first time, and it had its fun, but doing the same for the second one IMO will be a bit boring.

samples are being taken from the trailer as you speak  (at countries it hasn't been released yet)

Bad choice of samples (whether over-used or not fitting) can really ruin a song. I dread what comes next, especially with the third matrix movie due this november. Thats a lot of material full of corny sound bytes I'm sure... I think artists have to understand that if they wish to create timeless music they cannot act as an extension of the hollywood merchandising/promotion agencies. Its bad enough to see some Jedi on a bag of chips, and worse still to hear the hackneyed sayings in our special sounds...

hey, now.... when 1200 Mics - 1200 Micrograms (aka DMT) was initially released on 12 inch, that song was the absolute bomb. true, samples from the original matrix were a bit overused, but this one was great then and i would still consider it a classic now.

there were some burps in a Sesto Sento track ....so I guess that's been done already...sorry guys!
yeah 1200 micrograms was a classic!
I agree with everyone....matrix was overused...to the point of abuse........glad there's no track out there with morpheus' new soundbytes. |
