Ware Info: In April 2005 Schaffhäuser released his album “Coincidance“. The “Alternatives” EP, which followed in June, became the most successful 12“ in Ware history mainly due to Trentemøller’s remix of Coincidance. Needless to say, we’d like that to happen again but we know that those things never come twice. But then again, our in-house philosopher keeps talking about the endless recurrence of the same…
... which at least counts for the beloved 4-to-the-floor bass drum. Otherwise, Ware is still open to new discoveries so we’ve turned to a new artist as remixer and alternative mind. But hey, Audio Werner is not all new in the Ware family: Pull out the legendary “Warenkorb #1” (Ware 5) compilation off the shelf and play “Zum Nulltarif” by Gratis - alias Andreas “Audio” Werner. That was in 1999, Werner’s first ever release – gee, time flies! So it was time for this man to reappear at the surface, and his “November Reign” alternative on Side A is a real bomb, ringing in the New Year as if Christmas was tomorrow.
On side B Mathias Schaffhäuser transforms “Dear Elliott”, the requiem for the Californian singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, into a stubborn minimal-dark funk track, pulls the mourning crowd from their seats and onto the dance floor. “Life goes on…” as Dragan Stepanovich, another great philosopher, once said at a soccer match…
