---------

Can someone explain to me how this works.

Do you use a microphone that picks up reflections and adjusts the EQ according to the acoustics or can you just pop this in a DAW to improve monitoring.

I believe it works like arc system http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/arc/

you make some mesurements with some test sounds then according to the mesurment you apply the EQ.
when you have finished, put the EQ on your master with the preset you just created and that's it..of course remember to switch it off when you do the mixdown.

The mathaudio also makes adjustment with other microphone..but the principle is the same, you equalize your room.

I have ARC, but dont use it I need to make others measurment my room is not really good..

hope it helps           https://soundcloud.com/flowertz

In short things like that dont work!

It´s a red herring believing that things like this might negate what is essentially flaws in your reproduction system. By that i mean speakers, but most importantly your room acoustics.

More can be done with hand tools and off the shelf materials than can be done with something like this.

there are many real world examples of what home made acoustic treatment can do to improve the sound of even bad rooms. You will find it hard to find as many examples of improvement using corrective eq.           Mastering available here:

guys, I agree that the acoustic treatment is preferable but the principle behind eq correction is not bad and is not useless either..there are many many example in the web and from people I met that use the ARC system succesfully..so as always if you can treat the room then perfect (even though the treatment it does not resolve all the issues as in my case) but if you cannot do it then an eq correction could improve the overall listening experience           https://soundcloud.com/flowertz
