You can stretch it. The first of the available tools can be made a stretcher (find stretch in your help file for example that ll explain it for you).
It doesnt sound too good though if you stretch alot. Speeding up the tempo usually sounds better than slowing it down.

u just go to toolbar, look where you have the cut, copy, paste etc,, you will also have a sign there which looks like the arrow of the mouse with a small clock made on it,drop it down u will get 3 options, choose, sizing applies time stretch,, and stretch the wave file to match base tempo of the track by alligning 4bars,8bars or whatever
peace

You can also double click the clip to open the sample editor and select Musical Mode, sometimes an audio clip will has a BPM tag and sometimes you have to enter it manually, but once you have it in there Cubase automatically stretches for you. Great for loops. |

I found in time stretch setting, the clip tempo is not recognised, so it cannot be adjusted manually, unless you know the tempo of the clip already. The wave editor is a tad too complex. I know from Ableton that warp points can be set, but I couldn't see any place where you can see the clip tempo nor adjust it manually.

Hey Cannabis,
with time streching you are on a good way but its more like try & error until you get the right tempo..then you even have to know the different timestrech algorythms, wich you can select in the preferences to find the best working one for your sample.Like one algorythm works best on drum loops , the other works best on polyphonic loops and so on...read the manual about this..
In cubase there are actualy quite a few ways to transform a sample in order to fit your project tempo..
I suggest that you got a sample were you dont know the specific tempo of and want it to get it in time with your project tempo, right?
so import the sample on a new audio track, turn musical mode of, its the little yellow button in the inspector on the left, wich shows you either a note or a little clock thing whatever means adjust project time based or independent clock based...(see picture)
Anyway..build a cycle area around your sample and choose project/beat calculator, then set the "Beats" parameter on the exact amount you build up your cycle area, where 4 beats are a step from 27 to 28....in my case i choosed a cycle area from 73 to 77..that are 16 "Beats" ...its the most important thing you need to do...then Cubase will analyse the exact Tempo of your sample!!!
If your sample is quite too out of time, count the beats in your head and adjust as you count..
Next step is, hit right click on the sample ,choose process and time strech..see the picture...the window shows you the original sample tempo and the one you want it to be...see picture again..
there you choose your Project tempo, hit process and your done...so easy and exact.
Sure it works best with rythmic samples wich you can set to a clean loop
I made a litle Foto story of my steps below, hope you enjoy and are able to move forward,..
cheers
Rock it Cannabis
ps: long time ago since somebody asked a really interesting technical thing like this, sorry..but you will get most of the golden rays just in time
Hope even other people have some effort on this..
