Greetings everyone
After more than 4 years of broadcasting to you every Wednesday evening, It's time to say goodbye and move on.
Matantrance started on February 2004 when I was a 2nd year student in Sapir college. I started it slowly but surely and got some help from fellow students & friends who were also into psytrance (Dotan Maor aka Dot.com comes to mind). It didn't take too long till Alex ("Hamefanek") Shlosberg, a friend of mine from college, joined me as a technician and producer, and the artists started visiting our studio. First It was the Israelis, later on the foreign DJ's & artists joined them.
During these years, we witnessed changes in the trance world as well as in the media; the entrance of progressive (and later on electro) to Israel, the commercialism of fullon, the resurrection of Goa trance and so on. On 2005 we went online ( http://forum.isratrance.com/finally-matantrance-106-4fm-from-sapir-is-on-live-streaming-6-hours-special/ ), and this was a major upgrade for the show.
More artists and more labels started to support us and to send their music, and we were very thrilled and proud with what we achieved.
On 2006 Alex & I decided (naturally) to base our final project in our BA (in Communication) on the show, and a few months later we had a 55 minutes show which tried to introduce trance music & its culture to the radio listeners. Fortunately, we also got good grades so for us it was a perfect ending to college.
2 years passed, the psytrance scene has changed and so have we; We're not students anymore (still party goers though), we don't live in Sapir area, and our life is focused now more on our careers + some more excuses
That's why I decided it's time to say good bye and officially close the show this Wednesday night. Neither with special visitors, nor balloons. Just playing for you (and for us ) Psytrance we love, especially those tracks that remained classics and have been played on the show throughout these years.
So join us and tune in this Wednesday on 20:00-22:00, 106.4FM Kol Hanegev. It will be massive!
