This plugin is generating a stereo-room seperating different frequencies in different stereo-positions. You`ll find it in the Waves Platinum-Bundle.
Its very nice for mastering. |

Could it be useful to send separate audio tracks for mastering, or the final stereo mix should do ? U could send
your final mix, along with the separate tracks, or make everything audio, and give a cubase file with all tracks in audio. Could this help, or not?

I don't think sending as seprate audio files is good. After all it is your track and sending audio files can cause some changes in the track.

u guys are soo obsessed with mastering , tht u ppl forget what mixing is all abt ....
its sooo simple ... keep reading ...
if i got gold and i poilish it , it will shine
if i got diamonds and i cut them proeprly , they sparkle
but if i got charcoal , no matter what i do .. it always stays black !
so the bottomline is tht , if u want ur stuff to sound pro .... just forget tht there is sumthin called as mastering . !
all u should know and focus on is mixing ..... coz if tht is good ... then u automatically have all the gold and diamonds i spoke abt ... !
there is no magic guys , so pls stop looking for quick fixes and shortcuts ...!
mastering is sumthin tht takes years to come , besides tht fact , u gotta know what the fuck u wanna do with tht final stereo mixdown ....
applying any 4-5 plugins and loading some presets isint called mastering !
so guys , forget mastering and learn mixing ....
thts all i can adivce to my fellow isra mates !
and 1 more very imp... adivce ....
if u ppl dont have high resolution monitors ... PLEASE BUY ASAP !!!
otherwise u will never know what u are doin with ur sound !
PLUR >>>>boom ! |

Well said, but, even if the mix is damn good, there are some standards that deter some of the artists, including myself, from giving a proper demo. Maybe its just me, but i need to know that my -gold- is polished, before i give it a chance. Hell, i'm making music for about 9 years, and cause of the equipment lack and cost, i share my music with local dj's, giving my traxx an inproper in my opinion -plugin- boost. I'm a sound engineer, but i'm pretty sure that a mastering engineer could -club enhance- my sound. Why not then ? And just for the record, could someone plz inform me, apart from the big trance names, which release doesn't receive -full on- mastering from the labels ? And, on what percentage is mastering being applied to released psytrance music ?

its pretty much all been said but most commercially released music including psytrance has passed through the hands of an experienced engineer who is intimately familiar with the operation of VERY expensive equipment to achieve whatever the desired result is .. this result is impossible to achieve in the small budget home studio with a bunch of plugins .. even the waves stuff .. u can make an improvement but its just not in the same league as the pro studios .. like everyone says get the mixing right .. its enough to do already. |

@global trancenetworker
Yes, mastering is usually not the job of the musician, but its a smart gift for a dj or A&R to listen to a premastert demo-version, done by the artist himself, in the other case he could just present the pure mixdown.
It is absolutly right, that mastering is no simple plugin-chain with superb output.
But it is always good for an artist to know something about mastering, even if he knows much about mixing or not!
Because:
- If you know more about mastering, you also gonna know more about mixing, too. Its all connected. It is important to know how the compression in the mastering works.
Can I use compression in my drumgroup before the track is going to be mastered?
How deep can I lay stereopanning?
Why is my mix not so loud?
Shall I use transient-designer on my kick at first?
No one is able to create wonders with mastering on a bad mixdown, but everyone is free to learn more and more and to take care and ask questions about different and higher professions!
