Why do you need the mastering?
can you reveal the reason?

for a label? label will take care of it

You can take it to a mastering engineer and pay him.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

use the wave-bundle plugins, they are very good.
you can use them with wavelab or cubase, too.
most pc-users prefer wavelab... but its not important, important is how you master it.

try:
1. L2
2. C4
3. Eq (waves 10eq)
4. S1 imager/shuffler
5. loudness maximizer
- export audio -

you see the thing is,
my tracks are made on cubase but my layout is made on fruity loops because its more comfortable,
when lables even hear the word fruit then they look at you like ....
so what do i take t the lable?, just an audio cd with my track on it ?

if you are thinkin in sending your song to a sound engeneer you should not apply any loudness maximyzer on your track, or nothing similar.
just send the .wav file as clear as it can be, the sound engeneer will do the rest. the more you try to raise the volume of your track , the less can the sound engeneer work on your track.
anyway if you want a free minute of one of your tracks masterized just go to:

to get more information on how to send the track:

stay well

If you want a mastering engineer to master you track, you should send the track at the bitdepth and samplerate you made it in. If you made your track at 24 bits / 48 KHz, you should give the track without buss-compression, buss-eq, stereo enhancement, limiting or dithering. The people at the mastering plant have the know-how, the right tools and suitable monitoring environment for the job. Just export as a wave or aiff file, burn to cd and let them figure it out. You might do "kick/bass-up" or a "kick/bass-down" or a "lead-up" or a "lead-down" mixes, meaning that you mix in you bass/kick/lead a little harder or softer to give the mastering engineer a choice. Personally i wouldn't go with the last option but some guys do it.

Don't master anything...
Just make a good mix and send it to the label on audio cd.
Mastering won't help you.

I'll agree with this one... The thing is that, each label has its own sound engineers that do cooperate for this kind of job and they do it they way they want... So it might not be good for u to try anything to your track cause it might not sound good to the ears of the label u are trying to send it to... (These words came from the mouth of a label manager)

Yep. All you need to do is that the final mixdown from cubase sounds good without anything added on top.

Mmm, I always thought that artists were sending their cubase files to the engineers. Why don't they do that? It would be a lot better if the engineer corrected the problems from the source. Cubase and Logic should make an option to export a song as a self containing file, like reason, and send that for mastering.

And engineers will need all of the plugins they used?

Mixing is far more intensive, and thus expensive, than mastering. If you got the cash, you can hire a mixer. I did it once, and for two reasons--because I had obsessed to death over the tune so I wanted it out out of my face, and because I thought it was worth the money to get the files back from the mixer and examine how another person approached mixing by looking at their .all/.cpr files. IE, get your money's worth. If you got a chunk of change, why not try to strike a deal with an artist you like? It's unconventional, but imagine how much you could learn.

Thats not possible re man... How would the engineer open a cubase file same to the one you have used at home with all the sounds and all the plugs YOu have used coming from your pc... Not possible... Mike said it also I just saw his post

Best option, try to mix it as good as u can and then send the wave file with a cd or leave it to the pontential label to handle it...
