Anders,
Best mastering software imo is 'waves' plugs..
But no software stands decent mastering hardware..

Well, i got the "T-racks" mastering tool.
It's very simple to use, and it's effective. I used it on some old track that i made, and it worked wonders on it! You can reduce the noise, play with the bass, the treble, the kick... Everything!
it ain't your professional mastering gear, but it can get the job done, and gives very positive results!

i dont like the L1 or L2 much, too hard for me.. i think better use RCL or other type softer limiter.
although waves compressors rocks.

well i was thinking of something "external" i mean not to be used via cubase or logic or any other proggies...
I heard something about a Special Edition on Sound Forge or smth like that who was specialized and built as a mastering device only...
