I've spent a few days thinking I might write a psytrance track.
Having not really done that, I've actually spent the entire time designing a new set of sounds for Massive .
See what you think of the sounds and mix on this if you get a minute, and let me know. It's not really got any arrangement, just a set of ideas in a row. Just wondering if the mix has anything at all going for it.
I quite like the bass sound ... someone said don't use any EQ or compression as an idea on here ages ago, so I didn't, and it came out rather clean sounding.

not bad i think!
I agree what you said about EQ and comp but the bass sounds a little raw,too much highs IMO, i would cut them a little bit, you can note this when the bass plays higher notes.
But in general i think its not bad at all, you shouldnt worry too much about how good the mix sounds,IMO you learn more doing a few songs that sounds like shit than one with a better mix, but thats just my humble opinion ^^ |

Probably true, but I hate finishing a track and then deciding the mix sucks afterwards, always feels like a waste of a good moment of inspiration
Moments of genius come rarely so I'd better be prepared to tart them up with a good mix when they happen! |
