Oh yes - Naked Tourist. Its going to be fun. Going to miss Fractal Cowboys next week so Dylalien definitely sounds tasty.
Good to see Arahat out there too.

Looks like a very interesting lineup; a nice fusion of the LA, SF, and SD scenes (very nice!). I can't say I've been to a party with half of these people yet; so it should at least be a new experience.
Expect me to be there.
And on the other topic...
I love melody and chord progression. Personally, I love Full-On breakdowns; some of the most powerful breakdowns you find in any kind of electronic music, and the build ups are technical, euphoric, and unstoppable!
I try to look at it musically from all sides. To me, sometimes the hours of endless ambient groaning, clicking, and buzzing noises can be "cheesier" than the ever changing (and yes sometimes ecstastically happy) melodies; this is independent of bpm and other style qualities.
But it should be noted that I enjoy all forms of Psytrance; especially at the right timeslot. For me though, it becomes disappointing when we don't get uplifting melodies (and yes breakdowns and buildups) around the sunrise; then it feels like the music hasn't changed throughout the night. The BEST PSY lineups include the entire range of today's Psytrance and Chillout.

I'm glad you dig the lineup and are planning to come even though there won't be a lot of melody involved.
Like I said, *my* definition of psychedelic doesn't include so-called cheese but many others do consider that psytrance so I try not to make declarations of what is or is not. Hell, most people I've met think of psychedelic music as something like The Grateful Dead so who are we to say what gets trippers moving on a dancefloor?
Having said that, I tend to think psytrance should be trance-inducing and frequent breakdowns directly work against that so maybe that's why it's called Full-On instead?

G5.... Playaaaa. Respect the people throwing the party and trust in there judgment. If you want something different, then throw a party and put in the people you want to play. I love it all, but for fast trance Naked tourist is the best. Bjorn is my absolute favorite so enjoy that shit like crazy cause its the most psy shit for that style. |

Definitely agree with you!
Naked Tourist is really going to be amazing. Some seriously mind blowing trance music. Looks like this party is going to have a delicious menu of psychedelia to serve up.

yeah, nothing at all wrong with melody but my definition of psychedelic music excludes cheese so daytime doesn't mean ecstatic trance anthems with endless breakdowns...

Cheese? What is cheese? You put it on your hamburger or sandwhich. You can shred it over your chili too.
Dark Psychadelia is great FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. Think of the audience when throwing a party not your selfish preferences. |

apologies for getting hopes up but the party may be moved out of the desert due to a scheduling conflict with the location so I'll update everyone once we confirm an alternative.
and the full 24 hour lineup is already posted above...
