So now from Plusquam we have the 2nd compilation from Dj Mapusa Mapusa, which is good news for three reasons: 1) Plusquam, along with Iboga and Digital Structures, is one of the highest quality labels. 2) Mapusa Mapusa is a killer dj, the best afternoon progressive closer around. And 3) The cd rocks!

Tracklisting:
1)Haldolium--What's Up
2)Sly Flynn + D Nox--Nowhere
3)Bitmonx--Blindspot
4)Buzz--Breath It
5)Auricular--Bucketgroover
6)Shamn--Battle of the Tom Tom
7)Neo Logic--Walla
8)Dusk Rider + H--Research

What's great about the cd is that the tracks are all high quality and of different styles. We have the German groovy Hamburg sound in the 1st 4, then a bit more psychdelic in 5, then some swedish driving sounds in 6, a bit more full-on in 7, and then a moddy progressive house number in 8.

Highlights: Many!
The Haldolium track sounds huge, and I was very happy that weren't any pop/house vocals in it like the album. Great morning song.
The Buzz track is also huge. Great production. Oh my god the bass line is just huge! Definately designed for large outdoor systems. (The only thing I don't like is a trumpet sound--makes the tracks less deep for me--but some people will smile.) If you like this you should also check out the sexy+groovy new 12" on Plusquam for this and one more good track.
The Auricular track is my favorite on the album. (Auricular is Daniel/Shiva Chandra together with Mapusa Mapusa. They will have an album out on Plusquam later this year, and it should be another progressive bomb.) A very intelligent progression of small, strange sounds that build up throught the song and come together in a wonderful progression. Very very cool, another perfect morning track from Daniel.
The Shaman track also kicks. It brings a slightly deeper, darker, and more psychedelic edge to the compilation, and should kick in any dancefloor at any time of day. Shaman is getting better with each release, and like everybody at Digital Structures, is one to watch.
And finally, the Dusk Rider track (aka Aircrash Bureau, another DS act) finish the comp with another winner, a darker track with very nice progressive house grooves and loops that is cool.
If you are into progressive sounds, then this a must buy for your collection. 9.5/10 from me.

I can't wait for this album to arrive ... should be a matter of days now.

Really impressive lineup with totally new unreleased tracks from Bitmonx, Shaman and Haldolium, and the new Buzz track from the "Breath It" EP.

Only track I've heard on this compilation is the Auricular one from the "Prog Pop" EP ... a really nice track with excellent production.

If there's only 2-3 more tracks with that quality on this compilation I'm going to love it

Nice review btw ... I'll give my verdict when it's in my mail           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Neo Logic indeed...

For me ..... without any doubt on this compilation ..... :

this is the compil of the yeaaaaaaaar in progressiv style !!

In second time, Mapusa Mapusa make for this a real search for find all style in proggy at the moment, all new sounds are there ..... groovy , prog'housy, and heavy !!!

Thanks to him ... because I was a little disapointed by the last album from Haldolium ... but there "Whats' Up" is killer track !!

So .... I have my fav track for sure but honesty I liked all (and it's so hard) ...... i listen my fav TRack all the day ... and I dream one day to listen BUZZ in live ..... essentialy "Breath It" on big sound (maybe for voov festival ..... ) - this track is AMAZING ... it's like a joke with question - answer .. and i've a BIG smile when I heard him !!

Finally, All this compilation represente for me the happyness, the groove, the smile and a positive energy and for this BIG THANX !!!!

Yeah, this is a great release - definatly.

I'm a bit disappointed with the Bitmonx and Haldolium tracks though ... but that's probably because I love all their previous releases - and their tracks here are only ok in my opinion.

My highlights are Buzz - Breath It, and surprisingly enough: Neo Logic - Walla. The only full on track on this compilation.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
