Hi guys,

I recently bought myself a softsynth called Alien303 from G-Sonique. It came with a text file that tells me the MIDI numbers for all knobs on the synth. Now my question is, how do I tell my MIDI controller to use those numbers?
My controller is connected to my soundcard through a MIDI cable at the moment. Do I need to install the software and connect it through USB port on my computer for it to be able to assign numbers to channels?

Thanks

I'm using Cuvase 3 SX right now, about to downgrade to 2.02 (but legal) version Midi controller is by Edirol, PCR-80 I think http://www.maketunes.com/articles/edirol-pcr-80-midi-keyboard-controller-review
Isn't there a more or less generic way of doing this for most sequencers/contorllers?

Thanks!

Well..in sx3,go into device mangaer..hit the little plus on the top left side..choose generic control..then there is a new area..for generic control..there you have to select a controller in the upper window..move a poti or any controller on your keyboard..then hit learn.the cotroller displayed in that window should now change to the actual cotroller you moved..if so,go in the lower window..and select any parameter you want with this specific controller..then your done..

good luck!           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

Check manual of yout midi-controller, i have been recently doing the same operations with M-Audio Keyrig 25. Most probably, you don't need to connect it via usb, the MIDI CC messages can be re-assigned by pressing key conbinations on your controller. Check manual =)
