There's a lot of love going between Greece and the UK at the moment Here's a sample of the classic Flying Rhino track "Halt Production".
One thing I personally really like but I would want your opinion as well, is the free running VCO bassline of the x0xb0x. The envelopes don't give exactly the same transient content, but I like that it has this "motion".
So yay or nay?

Heard it at the club I am running (4x15" mids and tops, 2x18"subs) and it sounds absolutely fine, mainly because the bottom end is consistent, all the different transient content on each note do, is make the bass more "alive" kinda give it this motion as if a low mixed rim shot loop is mixed. The transients don't sound smeared, they just "pluck" different on each note. All this is barely noticeable in the mix as well.
Same goes for my car stereo.
Will stick to it I reckon, thanks for the feedback tho PoM.

yeah it s the clicks when not much sound are playing in the intro it s not "hiden" it s disturbing .
maybe for a next tune keep the bottom end /low mids with a lowpass or shelving filter and layer a plugin on top just for the middle high it could work

Well there are two reasons why it won't work. The compromise I am making is because the x0xb0x has this groove from programming basslines with its on board analog sequencer, it goes well beyond the simple velocity to filter cut off. It is impossible to capture even if you assign the velocity to filter cut off and filter ADSR decay, which is what the x0xb0x does so brilliantly with the decay and accent parameters.
And the other thing is that layering another synth on top means that I will not get the x0xb0x timbre for the middle high.
I hear what you're saying tho, although I can say that I like them different clicks...could be that my love for the x0xb0x sound is clouding my judgement...but I like what I hear.

to me it drift a lot to almost give a feel that it s badly synced.
i like free running bassline but with this midi sequence /note used , it make it too obvious/random for me but after it s taste...

I used the first swing pattern/scale of the x0xb0x sequencer... the "off" sync is actually a swing bassline pattern. It was weird to me in the beginning as well as this is pretty much the first trance bassline that I have written that has a swing.
