do you have any suggestions how to manipulate audio files and make with them cool sounds.i'm controlling midi much more than audio and i think maybe there are things that i can do with audio files that i cant do with midi.

i work alot with audio, it feels alot better for me.
i usualy try to bounce to audio as early as i can.
i only leave leads on midi and then bounce them also in the end.
with audio you have alot more control you can cut, pan, put offline effects, reverse, put volume envelope and control pitch.
its also alot more comfortable to see where the sound ends and not having to automate mute when you want complete silence.

Use ableton live to create crazy chains and tempo synched effects, then bounce and get that stuff to a sampler and play with loop's start point and modulation to create more crazy noises...
Explore some experimental free vsts...

I like creating leads with just audio. It's a lot easier to control the full sound (ie - removing a small section of audio in a lead to create some space, reusing the end of the lead for an fx)
