hey mate i make a bit of psychill,very broad question but ill try to help, with chill u usually have more space to work with, so u can add more fx like big reverbs than with psytrance. Reverbs are a huge part of the atmosphere will give so work with quality halls . Also to give more space, depth n dynamix try to use as little compression as possible, work more with volume automation.. cant really think of anything else but if u have ne more specific questions let me know b happy to help https://soundcloud.com/alon-chen

echo, tape delay, deep square or even sine bass (sine is kool for subbass - slap on aditional osc octave down and dubout) upbeat chords, bass, fx or anything, and using search here fuck this i'm in a good mood today - finaly after forish fivish years i managed to motivate myself enough to write and give in my masters thesis so here you go http://www.interruptor.ch/dub.shtml

Clarity in sound without distortion as well as of the mind is a must! my first tip to you, Less is more! Set yourself into a meditative space, first run around the block 2 times, full speed and full power, then sit down, close your eyes, watch your thoughts, don't involve yourself in them, just let them pass by as a non involved bystander, then feel your body and be a witness to that too, witness your breath, the same way you witness your thoughts, get into a heart space, open your eyes and start writing music! This is how I get myself into the space when I write music such as this:

yeah i started to do it also and love it ! I agree with the Bap get in the zone , well sampler in ableton is great i use it to make drones i just put a pad sample or make a pad and put some crazy land scapes in and put it on reverse play with the position notes ,reverb ,panner ,delay and BOOOOm , the basslines is up to you a sub is great ,and sometimes i crap a reggea midi bassline and kick pattern to experiment with ! if you want i got some midi self made patterns or from a other source ! great way to see the structure of a chill/ambient track ! if you are interested in that let me know ! yeah try to lower levels and give yourselve headroom , less distortion use lovely and calm pads and try to move them around with autopan and smoke a good joint and you feeling nice and calm ,forget crazy agressive sounds flying around , but visualize your in a beautyfull atmosphere with drones and cosmic tunes tingleling in your ears you can do it !
