I am gonna start making my own samples from synths (mainly percussion), instead of using samples made by other people!

Don't stop with percussion.

Ramps, stabs, random warbly sounds, whatever - keep making FX.

That way when you're in a track and think "gee I need a sound that starts quiet and then sweeps up" you can just drag one of your ramps right in to the song. A little timestretch or pitch-shift and you're done.

The only reason you would have to worry about tempo is if you are making loops. For single-hit sounds (FX, percussion, ramps, etc) you don't have to worry about tempo.

Please, make your own sounds!
