I am gonna start making my own samples from synths (mainly percussion), instead of using samples made by other people!
I will have folders for my kicks, snares, hats, every percussion element and then i would like to put them in a sampler machine so i have flexibility in changing note, but i am not to sure about the tempo and things like that!
Can you tell me how i should do it please?
Peace and light

Ok, so the tempo is irrelevant if you sample individual percussion instruments wich is what i wanna do! cool.
But how do i mark the export range, should i export a single shot of for example a kick ?
As an example i just would like my samples to be like the ones i used to use in reason(reason reffils)
Is it possible?

own samples, good idea
but why make a library? i prefer make them while creating. just take a synth, bounce some different hits and there u go. everytime new cool samples that fit with your track... |

The reason why i wanna make a library is because i have all my favorite sounds organized and when i start to make a track it will be faster coz i don't need to look for sounds, at least for a phew months...
Thanks

Organising your samples whether you made them or picked 'em from libraries is a good idea. you'll work better, faster (stronger?) .
and its something that can be constantly and easily updated once its organised |

Agreed..kicks and snares i can see, but there's not much to a hi hat. Just edit some free sampled ones in Battery or something.
  You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |

weird , when i do hihats , sometimes i go throu 100 samples and not satisfied.. there is alot to hihat too!
good idea is first to organize the samples u have allready , after this i cant see why bother more when i have 1000 samples to choose from , but u can add your own original library..
just export the single hits , make sure it starts right on time and have all the tail needed but not much more then that.. later simply load them in kontakt or battery or ay sampler to use |

Yeah, that's what i mean Elad, export the single hits from their start, leave the tail needed depending on the instrument and then load them into knontakt for example.Thank You!
This way i'll still be able to "right" them precisely in Midi isn' it?
In my opinion it's cool to start making my own samples maynly because i can take some days/ hours just to make presets/samples being able to make them very precisely and the way i want, afterall the better sound tweaks each instrument has the clear it will be in the mix.(One thing influences the other, like a Cosmic puzzle)!

exactly, trance music will have a diferent feel from artist to artist, using the samples that every one uses (even thou they might be very nice), music will sound similar!
trance should be original, ideas resulting from ones trip, dreams!
Dont let psychedelic trance be monotonous!

why bother?
i'd sooner use HIGH quality samples made on HIGH quality kit or HIGH quality real drums.
percussion is a small element in trance so no i don't think using samples would make music sound samey.
do you want to spend your time making samples or actually get some tracks made?

well, there is allways diferent opinions about making one's own samples, i believe there is alot of people out there who have beautiful tracks and dont bother making samples, for those it might be boring but i guess it all depends on the way each person likes to work.
I think it's nice for those who like to be original!
Even thou percussion is not the main element in most styles of Trance, it plays a very important rule.
