I went through the Kickdrum tutorial and I must say making your own kicks is great fun.
I was just wondering if there is any way to make Hi Hats,Crashes, Snares etc. too...
Thanks.

everythings possible m8,

try noises (noise generator osc) and fm/rm (frequency and ring modulation, specifically for metallic sounds ) for percussion sounds

start with an easy sound like a snare or a hat.

A great collection of synth-related info. Note the links to "Synth Secrets" series of articles from Sound On Sound on the left. Particularly:
37. Analysing Metallic Percussion
38. Synthesizing Realistic Cymbals
39. Practical Cymbal Synthesis
hope this helps

using hipass filter on noise is probably the easiest way (but not the only one) to do this.

also, check this out:

This seems to work. Trying alternate methods now. Thank you for the links guys. More advice is appreciated especially on making crashes. I want to move away from dependency on samples.           "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth."

The best way to synthesize your own open-hihat is to have a few instances of comb-filtered white or pink noise, with perhaps the lowest having a comb filter freq of perhaps 100 to 500 hz, then the others progressively higher. Absynth can do it(making a white noise osc can be a bit tricky, though), or you can build your own Reaktor ensemble, I'm not sure what other synths can be used... Then EQ and filter to taste...
