I really love the psy basslines I can make with Sylenth. I used Alien303 a bit in the past but something about it just feels like I'm coming up with the same stuff as everybody else. Granted, no psy bass seems THAT different generally and the ones I make in Sylenth aren't that different either but it's rewarding to make your own and I have more control than I have in Alien303. Besides, I had to ditch Alien303 when I started working on Mac. |

Make your bass on fl and put it in the logic .
Usually i work with Cubase/Protool , And i realy like those "Transplantation" of moving sound's from one daw to other .
Dont belive those legend's about midi bass or so (This is the joke of the century) , You can do everything , Everywhere .

Also check the sampler instruments in EXS24. It's the old Extreme Analog Sampler library that you had to buy with the older versions of Logic and then some. Great sounding samples from analog synths.
Then you have ES1, ES2, ESM and off course Sylenth which rocks. Between the Logic native synths and Sylenth, you have your basses covered really.
Peace out.

I only use Esm Es1 or Es2 when it comes to bass and they all rock hard as fuck....the only thing about the Esm is that you havve to sample it because it does not reset the osciliator......sometimes I dont even load the samples into a sampler I just put them straigth into an audio track.....also I love to add overdrive distortion to get it sounding hard....but any of the above mentioned synths are good to go....Ive also heard sculpure is good but Im on logic express so Ive never tried it ..... does anyone here have anything good to say about sculpture for bass? |

with es1 there is a nice trick if you want to get right of the click... (but tbh its the click that can give es1 is punch imo )
use fastest attack or A gate R that work nice imo so you can use the amp envelop to modulate the filter insteed
duplicate your bassline chanel by hitting cmd D or ctrl D don t remember..duplicate the midi too.. then on the duplicated es1 mix 100% to the sub oscillator and turn it to off, on this es1 instance you will hear only the click now...load the gain plugin and revert the phase.. no more click when playing both toghther the phase invert null the click (me i use fastest attack with the click, i eq a little, i like it it can drive like crazy) btut if you dont mind samplin esm it deliver some really phat bass that cut great. |

i just replaced the synth i was using with es1 on a prog/minimal tune and made this patch ,there was areadly some processing in the chanel and man it rocked hard !
maybe it can give you a good starting point it need fine tuning depending the notes, velocity and a bit of everyhting..
eq the mids so it dont mask the low end too much and to clean the sound a little.

damn it smoked totally the other synth i was using es1 and esm can make really good punchy bassline... again suprised by logic synths ,they might be not everyone taste but it don't sound like others softsynths..i like the raw sound but they could be maybe a bit cleaner now.. |

on the phase invert trick , you can adjust the attack on the phase reversed es1 and/ or play with the volume so it null more or less give you the option to dial some click back to your taste |
