and my 2 cents -
I was in a party with Yahel this weekend here in LA, and he totally blew up the place. He played a DJ set with his stuff mixed with greenhouse effect, ofer, infected etc, and ppl were jumping and screaming all over(especially girls:). Bottom line - I like some of Yahels stuff(cant sit through a whole disc, though) and he is doing great crossoving genres and most importantly-he's making ppl move! |

I was in a party when he played live.... and it was terrible. all the arsim were happy but many others just couldn't stand it..
I guess he's bareable only at a DJ set and not live.. |

Here it is called 'tall poppy syndrome'.. when the flower gets big enough that it stands above the field it is ready to be picked upon..
So what if he has decided that is the direction he has decided his music should take.. don't listen.. there is plenty of others out there making some really powerful tracks.. |

The answer is abviouse, look at his success!
If he keeps that way, I won't be suprised to see him standing in the WORLD top 100 DJs.
Ppl are admire his new style around the world especailly in europe... no more question about Izen, or AP - Yahel owns the world in the name of Israel, nobody can do anything about that and no1 will.
Bom, 8)
ps - Sherminator, Intelligent Life is Spiritual Healing (Yahel Remix)... |

Hmmm.
Well, I think that you're looking at Yahel in the wrong direction. Around 97-98, psychedelic trance became much more divided - hard stomping night tracks and light and flowing sunrise tracks, with less and less tracks trying to get there own way and just wanting to get more and more extreme.
Now, instead of AP and GMS, we have Yahel and Paps. Trance is getting a wider and wider range of music, but is becoming less and less diverse in the sounds and ideas of the tracks, since more and more people are obsessed with some idea of what trance is supposed to be like instead of just enjoying the music.
In short, Yahel is well made music. Maybe it's not my cup of tea, maybe others think it's the best, but who cares. It's popular, but why give a flying fuck.
And I'd prefer hearing Yahel at a party to Jennifer Lopez (yes, people play that in cerain parties), or house music (which I have been forced to hear by some of my mates in clubs), and disco ('nuff said).
Peace. |

but but :)
Ahh crap... there is nothing more to this argument than things changing, things we like starting to change into things we don't like, so we whine about them instead of trying to accept them.
Let's all be better humans and accept this.
However, i won't accept arsim on acid listening to Yahel in gufiot sweating andshitling around me =] |
