MAITREYA FESTIVAL- 7-10TH MARCH 08

Calling all people, of all tribes, of all colours, of all places , of all minds!
The global trance tribe is growing into an amazing community representing love, light, peace, and party to thousands around the planet. In the greatest traditions, we come together to dance, live and laugh under the stars for 3 amazing nights in summer 08. DICKT TREVOR- GREEN NUNS,AMD,DICKSTER

Dick started making music while at college doing sound engineering in '93. He and Matt Coldrick teamed up and had a go at making a trance track. TIP Records loved it and put out. From then on they became the Green Nuns of the Revolution. They made tracks for most of the English trance labels, Dragonfly, TIP, Flying Rhino, Phantasm and on various compilations, releasing only one album,"Rock Bitch Mafia" on Flying Rhino.
Within the Flying Rhino stable he and James Monro formed the Bumbling Loons, releasing a few singles and tracks on the label, they also did a couple of remixes for ManMadeMan and Sonkite. Dick also teamed up with George Barker (Slinky Wizard) to form Slinky Nuns & Seeka as well as Barramundi with Ronnie Biggs(Slinky).
On Twisted Records Dick did collaborations with Simon Posford as Infernal Machine and Tristan as Trickster. He also did a Western Rebel Alliance remix with Jules Evans for the Shpongle Remix album of the track "Crystal Skulls". He put tracks together for each Backroom Beats album under the name "Hierophant" with Ed Bigland. Dick has released a few tracks on his own as Dickster on Twisted, Phantasm and TIP.
Dick teamed up with Jon Om and formed Green Oms, they released an album entitled "Coming Through In Waves" on Dragonfly Records in 2002. Dick has also got together with Anna Hefetz from Israel to form Annarchy, their first release was a remix of Mumbo Jumbo on Transient Records.
Dick joined forces with Jules Hamer from Aphid Moon and came up with AMD which has had releases on Alchemy and Nano records. The debut album "Bigfish" was released on Nano in Feb 07, signaling a step forward in psy trance and a true storybook of psychedelia, once again putting Dick at the forefront of the movement and of the psychedelic horizon.
This is a trance legend in the flesh! Dick will be playing a 4 Hour sunrise set on Sunday to take you on a journey through psy like no one else can!

SENSIFEEL

Stomping around the world at the moment with a new album releasing on YSE this month! Sensifeel makes his way down under for a prog session you won’t quickly forget. With massive baselines and psychedelic groove you can’t find everyday, Sensifeel has made his debut on the world trance scene playing every major euro festival this year and tearing dance floors apart. A true believer in the power of trance for an enlightening experience, Sensifeel sets are renowned for taking listeners to a higher level and making dance floors evolve! Sensifeel is a prog lovers dream come true at Maitreya 08!

COSMOSIS

Cosmosis is here!!! Bilbo Bagginz is one of the pioneers of the psy trance genre and a true psychonaught that has helped take a whole generation on an amazing trip in sound and what a difference it can make in our lives!
His albums span the life of the scene, Cosmology was released in 1996, Synergy was released in 1998, Intergalactic released in 2000, Contact was released in 2002, Mumbo Jumbo released in 2003, Trancendance in 2005, and Psychedelia Melodica in early 2007. Renowned for his amazing baselines, twisted melodies, rokn guitars, and out of this world samples, Cosmosis has never stopped making cutting edge tunes and is still one of the best dancefloor experiences on the planet! If you like it psychedelic and full power, you’ll be blown away by this man and the music that is Cosmosis.

PHONY ORPHANTS

Emok and Jeppe are set to prog you like you’ve never been progd before! Slip, Slop, Slap and hit the dancefloor for any one of these guys sets over the weekend and feel why they’re the best prog act currently touring the globe. Apart from Phony’s live both these guys will slam out dj sets and Emok perform his all new live act Maelstrom, just released on his own label Iboga Records! In it from the beginning with the prog scene, Emok has played every party, worked with every producer, and put out more prog cd’s than anyone ever has or will do in the future. Jeppe is the fresh new sound of Danish progressive and a major part of the scene there for many years, his sets are well known as highlights of sunny Sunday afternoons around the world and should be nothing less at Maitreya. 7.5 hours of tunes is all we have them for, so make the most of every single second and make sure you are in front of those speakers when Phony Orphants touch down for the take off!

PSYSEX

PsySex was formed by Udi Sternberg (aka. DJ Goblin) and Yoni Oshrat (aka. Ace Ventura). They started working together in 1998 under the name "Children of the Doc". In 1999 the project adopted their present name and released their debut album "Expressions of Rage" which was successfully followed by the release of their breakthrough follow up albums "Hardcore Blastoff" in 2001 and "Come in Peace" in 2003. In 2006 Yoni left the group to Goblin who will release the 3rd Psysex album in early 2008. This album will bring down the house and be a new step in the full on sound that trance is renowned for. A longtime leader in the Israeli scene and one of the stalwarts of the Hommega stable that has taken over the world, Psysex is ready to set the dancefloor on fire at Maitreya 08. No stranger to big crowds, Psysex has taken thousands around the globe on a full on music journey through the most psychedelic frontiers on the horizon and continues to push for a transcendent experience for all who enter his dancefloor!

CYKLONES

The “City of Klones” album was released earlier this year on Millennium Records and has seen these guys touring ever since with appearances around the globe. Drenan and Philippe got together in France and started to formulate what is now an eclectic mix of psy and prog that is setting dance floors crazy and gaining respect of the top producers in the scene. Here for the very first time in Australia and only to be heard at Maitreya Festival this summer! Stomping baselines with unbelievable production and super psychedelic sounds from Drenan make these tunes great for prog and psy headz alike. For bass that will shake the earth beneath your feat, you cant go past these guys Live on Sunday or in either of their dj sets over the weekend. These guys are a new talent for your ears, and will certainly become a favorite that you’ll here much more from in the future!

ATMOS

Back once again to continue in the groove of Rainbow 07, Atmos will bring an entirely new show to coincide with his upcoming album release in 08. Massive power, bigger groove, better flow, deep as fuk, and cosmic as the stars, his sound has evolved from the beginning of the prog movement and continues to push boundaries and lead the direction of progressive trance in the world. Releases since 1998 on Flying Rhino, Spiral Tracks, Eve Records, YSE, Digital Structures, Iboga, Phonokol, TIP World, Solstice, Transient, Liquid Crystal Vision, Candyflip, Flow Records and more. Theres not much he hasn’t done in the world of trance music and not many places he hasn’t rocked dance floors into hypnotic ecstasy time and time again. Sunday afternoon hit the dancefloor with friends and drift away to tunes of Atmos thumping in the sun!

ANTIX

They don’t come from very far, and were so very lucky to see them a few times a year, but we thought they deserved a bio all the same cos there just so damn fine! For those in the now, New Zealand brothers Barton and Hayden Strom aka Antix have been producing a sublimely deep minimal groove that has been rocking dance floors across the globe, far and wide for the last few years. The hits just keep coming and the production just keeps smashing the benchmark of anything before it. Another 3 hours of goodness from the kings of good times, Sunday arvo look the fuk out when these two are around! Session On!

All this plus the best lineup of the cream of the crop of Australian electronic talent alongside bands from around the country thumping it out on Funktion 1 systems over the weekend.
