I have this idea of switzerland... their feeling is into progressive!

Is this true?

Here in Portugal, and in the most country's the main style is full-on, and in Country's like Switzerland (...Germany, Finland, and many more) progressive rules! Why is that? I might be wrong! am I?

well i can just talk for myself and how i feel the scene is today in switzerland.
i think that most ppl who where into goa in the early nineties have moved to the more progressive or even progressive house stuff. maybe im wrong (there are always exceptions). but for many of the ones i know who experienced the goa in the early nineties are now just bored about the ever same sound of full-on/psy and the hippie crap which is often related to it. this is reflected imo in the music which is produced in switzerland. productionwise the progressive is much stronger then the full-on stuff and gets also international attention, but this can change offcourse.
right know there is some kind of a seperation between the psy and the progressive scene. the psy scene is attended by younger ppl and the parties are mainly open air, while the progressive audience is attended by rather a mixed crowd and parties take place in indoor locations and clubs rather than open air...
what i like in the progressive scene is that ppl are more open to new ideas and sounds. there is not that: "this isnt psy anymore" arrogant attitude i sometimes experience at psyparties.

feel free to correct my image of the swiss scene, its just my personal view...

peace

yeah, i think what patrick said is ok for me, but one point i have to correct a bit, proggy-type of fraggle always complains about when its getting fullonish ("whaa, düdel..."). they are not better than the fulloner... actually there is a fight between them...

got the same experiences, but maybe there is a deeper reason for that? hm...           just gimme more of the same. its just a test!

hello peoples

@patrik: musst du jetzt auch noch hier im forum mit diesem thema anfangen!?!?!? ist schon schlimm genug das hier in der schweiz von beiden seiten eine intolleranz gezeit wird!!!!

i don't think so. we have here in switzerland a lot of partys in all styles. all star of the different styles was in switzerland this year. we have full-on partys with stars of israel, progi partys with her stars and we have psy-partys. every weekend are a lot of partys (10-20). i can't support that ppl are more open to new ideas and sounds in the progressive scene. all peoples are open here in switzerland. my experience ist that progressive people are more closed in her indoor locations and in her music. but thats my opinion. progressice style is more in zürich and basel and psy/fullon is more in bern and central switzerland.
but for the finish i would say the here in the switzerland we have a good mix in the styles. you can every weekend choice where you will go.
so boom boom and greetz from switzerland

to goval: i didnt want to start a fight... i just told what i feel is going on and was expressing my point of view. probably ur right about that the arrogance comes from both sides. but whatever, as u said everyone can go wherever he/she wants to... so no bad feelings ok?

what actually is hapening in switzerland is very stupid. why seperating psy/full on from progressive trance?!
a party with every stile has the best story and vibe, coz it still psytrance u know.
and i've had an expirience here where a party orginisor didn't want progressive trance music on the party since, according to him, the progressive is not psychedelic, but patrick showed it yet is psychedelic
don't get me wrong i'm not trying to create the common progressive-full on fight, i'm just saying that seperation is not nice. there even is disrespect between people listening to these 2 different "trance styles" and the reason is symply the different taste each one has. and that, ofcourse, is not fer since in that way the spirit of friendliness in the trance culture is weakening because of a stupid reason. i'll take myself and patrick for example. i like full on and lets say he likes progressive trance. after both of us know that, would that be a reason for disrespect or something similar???! ofcourse not but from what i've noticed, it is really hapening in the scene.

on the other hand as far as i know switzerland has a very developed and nice scene, i've heard many good words about it, and this seperation seems to be kind of logical.           Why u little !!!

I think people with longer history in the goa sound have moved into the progressive sound. .

I agree with andrejcid about seperating the different styles they all serve a purpose I M from san francisco and all the parties here are full on sometime it could get too irritaring and you wanna listen to some morning beautiful sounds and the closest to the we went is the isreally alien project astrix blt stuff.

this seperation makes sense. the styles are too different imho. same roots, but different direction...

the main reason for me to go to a party is the sound. if i dont like the sound i cannot not really enjoy the party...

and this has nothing to do with disrespect of someone else, this is just a personal taste of styles...

no need to fight...

peace on earth           just gimme more of the same. its just a test!
