Hi everyone. I'm new to the board and thought I would say hi and share a clip of my attempt at my first psy track. I've been producing trance for a couple of years but just recently decided to move to psytrance as that has always been my first true love.
I'm new to psy production and I'm still learning so any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and help me in the right direction. A couple of people have heard my track and said it wasn't psytrance so please tell me what you think and what you would classify it as. Trance, tech-trance, etc...
Thanks for reading and listening!

hi magnus and welcome to the board
i would call it psytrance, but some psy-melodic-hybrid thing a-la yahel 2nd album style
first of all - the sound is very good. maybe some more elements. the bass could use some more low mid in it to give it warmth and presence to people who are not hearing it on a party or with a super-mega-maxx-bass subwoofer of some sort.
adding background sounds can help, it sounds sort of "empty", like it's an intro to something explosive which is going to happen, but nothing happens of that style.
you got a big thing on your hands here - try implementing what I told you, it might help.

Thanks for the reply and advice Mike! Your comments and advice are incredibly valuable to me as I'm just getting into trying to make psytrance. I'll take your suggestions to heart and head back to the drawing board. |
