MSF hasn't really broken into the psy scene yet (can't figure out why). highly recommended.

Freedom Star is a definite and marked evolution for Magic Sound Fabric. The first MSF album, Uplift Drift, was a wonderful album that was equal parts loungey and psychedelic. Freedom Star has moved away from the loungey downtempo sound and rooted itself in deep dub rhythm and bass structures. Tracks like Cosmic Consciousness, Suns of Sun, and the title track are built on true dub beats and bass lines. This album has not just retained the psychedelic edge of the previous one, but has widely expanded it. This is evident across all the tracks, but is clearly evident in tracks like Perfect Light, Edenexus, and Risen City of Electro take long journeys on sonic synthesis to far off places. The thing that sets Magic Sound Fabric apart from many of the albums is the real recordings of bass and guitar that are woven into the electronics. The way in which the tracks are constructed also show a deep understanding of composition.
Freedom Star one of few recent albums that demands to be put into the cd player and played straight through, but also contains 4-5 deeply compelling tracks that will appeal to DJs for indoor or outdoor dubbed journeys.
