hey
anybody here using the "apple magic mouse" in the studio ?
i'm thinking about buying one but i'm not sure about the handling when you work for a couple of hours.
it's quite flat and absolutely not ergonomic, but it has nice features which i like. i tested it for a couple of minutes but can anybody say what happens after hours...days...weeks of long sessions sitting in front of a DAW ?

It seems as though apple never really understood the ergonomics of the mouse as an input device. Bar none all their offerings have been piss poor compared to other brands. I would for sure worry about long term ergonomics when considering a "magic mouse" I own the older mighty mouse and aside from the rather clever scroll ball thingie it leaves a lot to be desired. I use an aftermarket solution involving wireless keyboard and mouse made for mac by logitech naturally. If you do miss the scroll options from apple mice (which is their one redeeming feature) i suggest you look at either their new trackpad or a wacom bamboo touch (both support the multitouch features so nice to have in logic or any other DAW for that matter) (i have a wacom tablet bought for other purposes and it does the job)

I enjoy the magic mouse but it keeps loosing the bluetooth connection wich is pretty annoying and made me step back to a normal cable mouse.

bluetooth connection get's lost on a mac computer ? or do you have a win pc ?
problem is, my macbook has only 2 USB ports and my audio device works via USB.
thanx monno!
i think i'll have a look at the logitech options. i reckon they have some ergonomic products which work fine on a mac...hope so

i got one as present for christmass at first i thought it sucked big time but now i m getting used to it and like it , havent used for hours yet but i think it s just about getting used to it . never got any lost connection yet, working perfeclty here on mbp 2010, a friend have some problems and think its about battery ,when they are full he get trouble. he use one full one empty and no problem ,strange hehe, he is on imac 2009.
i love the mb pad for lot of stuff , magic track pad could maybe be much better than magic mouse, i like the mouse but i should have tried the track pad ,what you can do in logic is great with it, much better than on the magic mouse or maybe i miss some fonctionality?it s seems limited vs mb pad to me |
