The festival venue will be located in a coconut forest, next to the beach...!!!
The name Mafia is derived from the Arabic, meaning “group” or “archipelago”, or from the Swahili meaning “the land that heals”.
Mafia is little changed from ancient times and retains a traditional, friendly culture; and the community tourism association works hard to preserve this individuality. Chole Bay and its surrounding forests and islands are now within the protected Mafia Island Marine Park, supported with assistance from the World Wide Fund for Nature.
Mafia island is the largest of a small archipelago of islands and lies 25km off the coast of Tanzania in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Much of the island and surrounding archipelago is a designated Marine Park, and remains an untouched paradise of original coastal forests, surrounded by one of the world\'s richest marine habitats.
The Island lies off the mouth of the Rufiji River in Southern Tanzania. It is one of the least developed parts of an undeveloped country, yet it has been, and continues to be, part of important historical processes. Although its spectacular marine life is becoming increasingly well known, especially since the setting up of the Mafia Island Marine Park, little other information is widely available.
Mafia has a rich history going back 2.000 years partly due to its location in the trading route, between Kilwa and Zanzibar, and there are many ancient ruins scattres between the archipelagos that give you the feeling you have stepped back in time!
Tanzania captures the very essence of the African continent, and distils it into one country, an African Eden of natural riches and cultural wealth. The land of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Zanzibar, Ngorongoro Crater, the Maasai with 120 more tribes, is a very welcoming and approachable country of Africa…

Festival consists of four areas/stages where artistic expression will be presented!
The stages showcase world-class DJ\'s, Bands and other Live Entertainment. Strategically placed in ideal locations through the beach and the coconut forest, the stages draw on state-of-the-art sound technology combined with inspiring visuals.
Delivering a soundscape of an eclectic and mind-blowing variety, Mafia Dance Festival is guaranteed to induce immediate electrifying bliss!
The Main Stage, pure quality trancing the whole way through!
The Alternative stage were ethnic, downtempo and chill out music meet! No techno, minimal or anything uptempo what so ever!
The African stage that will include original African music and all kinds of Tanzanian arts in a large market area! Paintings, Sculptures, Masks and more. Bands here play unplugged! Tribalism needs no electricity!!
The Awareness stage were Movies and Lectures on matters of global and spiritual importance, join forces with Workshops on Yoga and Meditation!
Pre & After Parties will also present a blend of newcomers and pioneers of the global psy trance scene.
The tickets for Mafia Dance Festival will be limited to 3000. We advise you to get your tickets as soon as the presale starts, as demand is very high and very few tickets will be available at the doors (if not sold out).
We want to protect the island\'s untouched nature and the quality of the festival. We believe that this is the best for all of us to enjoy and the best way for the organisation to facilitate everyone for this first edition.
Presale started early October 2009 and ends early July 2010!

This project is simply magic, and we hope you can join us in 2010.

The tickets for whole Mafia Dance Festival 2010 will be limited to 3.000 and limited for each country (with a logic flexibility). We need to control our invasion to such a pure and paradise place. From next year, we will build the knowledge to except more people and also our people, will build the knowledge of showing our civilization to the local purity that lives in the island for long...
