So doing a tune that has finally brought my 1gb RAM Quad 2.66Ghx Xeon processor MacPro to its knees.
Note that I have about 60gigs available on the MacPro's 7200RPM internal 250gig HDD.

Opened the same arrangement on my new i7, 4gig RAM, 4core 2.2gig processor MacBookPro and the tune runs with no hick ups at about 75% of the CPU meters.
Note that I have about 300gigs available on the MacBook's 5400RPM internal 500gig HDD.

I have about 45 audio tracks and 40 software instrument tracks and only two sampler instruments tracks with more than 2 8ves worth of short drum samples samples across the keyboard.

Just a little CPU test if anyone is interested.

Peace out.

I haven't encountered any HDD error messages and the HDD meters are always low on my tunes. Don't use too many audio tracks, rarely go over 50.

Thanks for the link tho.

Peace out.

Nope, Snow Leopard on both Macs. I have been reading too many negative comments about Lion so staying away from it until something that works, comes out.
Mind you I think the last version of Tiger was better than SL, definitely felt lighter for my MacPro...it seems like things are getting worse with every OS update...

Peace out.

not suprised , the i7 mbp from 2010 perform similar too this macpro.

about sl for me 10.6.5 was very stable and performed great . i wish i could come back to it but you need last sl update to use logic 9 last bug fix.

btw nectarios in logic you might see a performance difference with the option of core to use ,at first when they introduced the option it was not using all the corps by default on mine , i had to set it up manually

Bot my MacPro and MacBook use a threads, although I have heard of people's systems, denying to use all available processors. I haven't run into that problem my self so I have not looked into it.

Peace out.
