wow . me agree with you c3pu
ashkara the new Ibook looks like a falfula man
me dont like Emac/Imac , me bought titanium G4
that does ze job better then my tower G4 ...(logic)
and i do plan to add a new CPU card for a total power of 2Ghz (around 4Ghz on win/tel machines)
Rabbitalien try looking for a 2nd hand G4 tower or laptop
try
www.mac.co.il
or
walla >comps>mac>forums
or
Ebay >search>G4/G3 etc for ze ultimate list
G3 is ok but G4 worx much better with OSX (altivec , dual processors ).
apple's main plan is to switch from january to OS-X (no OS9 from jun machines ..)
but thats all "hartabarta" man ! look for an old ATARI and start do music ...

well falfula i am curious as to how you reach the conclusion that macīs have twice the power of a similar clocked pc. please i would like to know of these facts (if you have them)and putting an extra cpu card in a mac??? i am dying to know where you got that idea. i do agree with on one thing though. the atari is the only machine that ever worked properly for music. |

Wako,
even the lamest powerbook can do the audio job
better than any peecee laptop .
falfula , why "powerlogix" ? What about sonnet or xlr8 stuff, they work great, especially sonnet cards,
and they very cheap priced . |

still depends on the user dude. iīve tried them in action and they donīt do it for me.
iīve worked with protools on these machines
and they are good for that. but if they have to operate on native cpu power they fall short i no time. i demand a lot from a computer and the only way i can get the tech i want is to custom build a pc.
some feel different and thatīs ok but the pc
isnīt as shit as you mac people make it out to be. maybe 3 years ago but not now. just to let you guys that think the world of apple know that the pc is indeed a worthy alternative for music making, although you actually have to know what you are doing. for truly trouble free operation choose atari.

Personally, i don't like protools, for my production
needs protools sucks, i need more control over midi
and mixermaps.
Another thing is if u know how to optimize yo
computer for audio (it can b pc or mac) it will work
stable as atari , but microsoft doin' stuff that u don't
have any control over it .
I don't have nothing against pc hardware , the main
problem is software , operating system .
If apple will make their MacOS for pc computers ,
i think i will move to pc .
For now i prefer to " think different . . . " |
