Currently i own a pc and i am using fruit loops and wavelab to create my music. Very soon i am going to switch from pc to macintosh and i will buy a new Emac G4 700 mhz . Is fruit loop available for mac? What kind of software(like fruitloop) will you recommend to me? I also would like to buy a pair of good monitors (not too expensive) for my Mac. Please help.

Afaik, FL doesnt work on Macintosh. as for Mac based music proggs, i suggest you ask the mac freaks here, or do a search on "Macintosh Music Programs".           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

move to logic audio.
its not like fruity loops.
its only the sequeser.
but get vst instruments with it and then you can make music like a pro.
in a nut shell.
many ppl here can explain better...

If i am going to buy something like Logic or Cubase is it going to run smoothly on the 700mhz 256mb Emac? Is there any instrument (sound) generator software for Logic or Cubase? I found out that Reason is out for macintosh. Dont you think is better to switch from Fruitloop {which i use it quite well} to Reason ?

sure man use reason...
with logic.
basicly its what u like.
reason got a built in sequencer.
but imho the logic is more powerfull sequencer.
and im sure your mac will handle the software good.
btw - you have cubase on mac ?

No i havent bought any program for mac yet. I have to decide first which one i am going to use.

So i searched in the apple-store and found out the following programs:

1 Cubasis VST 2.0(oops, not Cubase )
2 Groovemaker 2.5 LE (is that similar to Ejay program?)
3 Reason 2.0
4 Storm (seems to be something like Reason?)
5 Logic

I am thinking of buying Reason looks similar with FL and has all kinds of tools someone needs .. from synths to sampler editors, drumsynths.. it looks even better than FL

Reason is a Self Contained Studio, Capable of doing All the work Fruity Does with other softwares. i belive that Reason 2.0 and logic are your best choices for the Mac.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

Yes Jason, propably thats the best solution for me at the moment. You are saying to combine reason with logic software are there any problems when you import a loop made from reason to logic? Some people saying that is a bit problematic to import FL loops to Cubase.. what about Reason&Logic?

ps: I also want to buy a pair of monitors that will be connected to Emac. Any suggestions?

no import.
the reason opens as a vsti in the logic.

Yo, E-Mac sucks big time, and I-Mac too ,we talking
about plastic toys here,if it's about audio production
it's G4 tower or X-Serve rack (if u have the $$$) .
So, about all those i/eMacs , u just
better stay with PeeCee .

Software: i use Cubase for sequencing, Peak for
editing and looping, Recycle for doing "haltura".
And also Metasynth,Tokyo,D-SoundPro,infinity,
Waves, some audio utilities and converters too .

for me macīs and music production donīt go together anymore they have too little power compared to their pc counterparts. the research and development done by apple is soooo slow compared to what is happening on the pc market.
in my opinion all macs are toys, nice to look at but not powerful enough for my uses. and donīt forget most of the instability issues a pc has, is because of the idiot sitting 40 cm. from the screen.
but good luck just the same. just donīt come crying when you have to buy an all new machine in 1-2 years time cause you canīt upgrade shit in that plastic box.

Thanks People for your very helpful tips!

I decided to buy reason 2 and logic . I ll go for an Emac because i dont have a lot money this period. Maybe my pc is more capable of manipulating audio software but mac is far better in web desing and java development and mac os X is more stable OS than the crappy Windows(got sick with blue devils).. Thats the main reason i buy a mac. I seek music production more for fun&hobby , so i cant spent lot of money for that. Upgrade is not an issue because even if i buy a Wintel box i ll have to upgrade it 2 years from now to a totally different system. So i guess with that money i ll be able to give my Emac to apple and add some more cash and buy a newer model..
