MACHINE REQUIREMENTS for production

hey guys, i need ull to tell me whts the best computer configuration for music production, ie, speed, ram, soundcard, etc
please mention manufacturers, and brand of soundcards, not very expensive , but good quality sound cards for music production.
besides this wht would be the other requirements, ie, hardware, synths,keyboards etc.
please give appropriate details.

hey dj,
I think any Intel P4 3.2ghz or AMD XP3200 with 1GB ram optimized for music production will do the job,
make sure the speeds for the ram/motherboard/cpu are synced and invest in a fast SATA or SCSI Hard-disk- and as bigger as better- audio production requires a big ammounts of HD space,
also choose a good computer case with enough room and ventilation so the things will not get too warm- but search for a quite fans so it will not disturb your work.
for today's trance production you can be fine without external hardware(synths, effects etc.)
I suggest you to invest on:
1. Strong PC with professional sound card(Creamware, RME, M-audio etc.)
2. Good Studio Monitors
3. Acoustic room
4. Midi Keyboard / optional
