Hey all,

Sorry for the title didnt know what to keep .

Anyways Ive been juggling with the idea of buying a macbook pro 13.3 inch screen soon and I have a few questions.

I was wondering how the sound card performance is for production?
Should i buy an external one as well or is it good enough? If i do have to buy one, is the Native Instruments TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 a good buy?

Also are there other alternatives to a macbook for a cheaper price?

Thanks in advance and BOOM to all!

Get an external one! I just got a tc electronic impact twin which seems to work well! All tc soundcard work well so far on a mac. But I am sure there are others that will do the trick that are a bit cheaper. But maybe you can find a second hand konnekt 8 or 24.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

NI Dj soundcards are quite good and rock solid since they are made for gigging

I've got a Mac Book Pro 13.3 and a Presonus Firestudio Mobile. It hasn't given me any problems.

I would recommend going with a Firewire Soundcard. That way you keep your USBs free for other stuff.

cheap, very good converters, but few features or i/o: apogee duet

slightly less cheap, good converters, tons of features & i/o: motu Ultralite (great fucking deal, almost got one myself)

both of those are ideal for gigging but, for production in the studio - higher end apogee are the bomb. seemless integration with mac os, and, if you're using it, logic.
