from some guys that know about electronics and what he use in his product it s really overpriced but that could be said for most high end gears.
he pay attention to take some pot and switch that look nice to make his stuff look like luxury but that cost nothing

he's a friend. a one man operation. he does everything himself. all the parts are quality, and will be much higher tolerance than in a vintage synth. i really don't see a problem with his prices at all. dude's gotta eat! serge stuff uses ridiculiusly cheap off the shelf components, and is way higher priced, but it's not just about the components is it? overheads, r&d, parts & production costs, shipping etc. etc.

Overpriced? Moog is the king of overpriced for what their synth do.
£1100 for the Eurorack Micromac seems like a fair price to me. You get 3 quality VCOs (where can can be disconnected from the keyboard and be used as an LFO), 2 ADSRs and a quality 24dB transistor ladder VCF, with great routing for FM and complex modulation sounds, all set up nicely in one big module. Now think about what you would pay if you bought them modules separately.
On the rumors of the parts he uses, what I heard (but can't confirm is true or not) is that he uses military grade parts to build his synths, which means they are built like tanks, but some people complained that he is supporting the arms industry? Once again, I have no idea whether that is true or not...but my feelings are that, he must be using a trillionth of parts that are used for arms...

dunno if it s true but his rd cost should not be that big as his synths come from design that already exist and he use services for pcb and assembly. it s not like he make your micromac and then send it to you like ppl think. it s come from factories and i m not sure it s possible to use the best electronical component matching that way.
could be wrong on this would be nice i get corrected but read many bad thing about macbeth, like he charge a lot more than what is product cost , way more than other eurorack brands.
i m intrested in his products have to try to judge by myself but so far about the sound from the demos i have mixed feeling
