i have installed the Logic Express 7 on Mac OSX Tiger.
Run the setup assistant to set up all midi devices, audio stuff etc...
Everything was ok, but then my Logic unexpectedly crashed down. It always crash down when i am starting it
also there is something like Audio MIDI setup in "Applications>Utilities" folder, and there is possibility to set up sound to 44100khz / 16bit or other value, for example 96000khz / 24bit. I had set up 44000/16, but when starting Logic, this value was changing to 96000/16, and then crashes up...
anybody know how to solve this crash problem??
will be very thankful to anybody...
next problem i have is with Cubase 1.0.7 SE for OSX Tiger...
I have an error that:
"audio engine could not be started"
"audio engine error: no sound input"
"audio engine error: no sound output"
if some one know how to help me, then i will be very thankful guys!!
Boom namaste Thanks!!

If logic keeps crashing at startup, my guess is its a plugin causing the crashes... is the arrange window opening or is it crashing b4??
also abt changing the bitrate from 24bit to 16bit, try doing that in logic itself when ur bouncing to audio, it gives u the option.. all ways work at 24bit in logic, and then change it to 16bit for cd's when ur actually bouncing the file ... by default logic sets itself to ur preferences when bouncing audio, so maybe u need to change it there in order to overide system preferences...
hope i helped |

i even did not get to the arrange window... it crashes when this little rectangle with Logic LOGO is on startup... it makes me angry >:[
i have set up in my OSX system this value: 44100khz/16bit (i use "Audio MIDI Setup" in Applications>Utilities) and it's changing on Logic startup to 96000khz/16bit and then crashes down... (i hear a little "pluck" sound when it's changing and then shit happens)
any suggestions?

Hi,
ok sounds like one of ur plugins is crashing logic, in the rectangle window at startup, what plugin name is running accross the bottom when it crashes? find out and then manually remove it from your components folder...
secondly if ur on an intel mac are u using the universal binary logic??
as far as the change in ur bitrate when logic opens.. let the whole program open without a crash.... and see if its still having the same problem..
let me know whats happening

Ok it crashes down when reading "Audio Unit Cache" (saw this on login rectangle...)
I moved my Components folder from "Library > Audio > Plugins" and copied it somewhere else for a moment, to check, if i delete them from Audio folder in Library, give me something... and it still crashes...
i have G5, not intel.

if its the k for logic express, apple updates may render it ineffectice. if you installed any software updates after installing it, this would most likely cause it to crash.
otherwise if there is an update for pro application support grab it, as this is integral to the program working
for cubase i was able to get it working on my G4 with panther. not sure about tiger or a g5. some programs stopped working after the update. even though, on a g4 i found sx1.x to be pretty buggy
Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

Move all your plugs out of the component folder, and store them somewhere else...Note that there's a components folder in your home acount asswell...so empty that too....
You can also check where is crashes by looking at the startup screen, when a certain plug stays there for a while, and crashes, it's most likely that plug that's causing it....
Good Luck

i emptied all plug's folders and also i cleared cache folder for audio. i don't see which plug-in is loading when Logic crash down, because i see only this text when loading AU cache: "reading Audio Unit Cache". nothing more, so i dont know what EXACTLY makes Logic crash down...
"Move all your plugs out of the component folder, and store them somewhere else...Note that there's a components folder in your home acount asswell...so empty that too...."
you are talking about "Library > Audio > Plugins > Components" ?? this is MAIN plugin folder on OSX...
