A few months ago I experimented with a hacked copy of OSX that runs on regular intel PCs.
I don't know how far its come on, but I know Apple have released their Boot Camp loader to dual boot XP and OSX on the same computer.
I use Cubase primarilly, but I'm going on a music course that teaches Logic, and I'd like to get some practice in - or I may end up moving to Logic exclusively?
My question - is it possible to run OSX on my non apple computer, use the OSX drivers for my Audiophile soundcard, and install Logic?
Is this gonna work, or is it gonna be a hacked up mess?! |

I don't see why it would be slow if it did work, the i386 version was made for intel hardware and I've just bought a Core 2 Duo E6600, which flys... |

@Tomos, it should work, but the thing with the drivers depends on Mac OS X, i hope it has intergrated drivers
ps, try Mac OS X 10.5...

Can you explain integrated drivers? I know you can get OSX specific Audiophile drivers from the soundcard website. You mean drivers built into the operating system?
OSX 10.5 is the latest release, right?

OSX 10.4.8 is the last version that has been out. OSX 10.5 called Leopard is coming in the beginning of 2007.
There will be a problem in running an actual version of Logic 7.2.3 too. You need to buy it, not like cubase!!! Since Apple changed to Intel it is possible to run OSX totally compatible on a PC with an Intel Core Duo CPU and the special board.
But I would rather change to a MacBook if you got not enough money to buy a MacPro.

Money wise, I have virtually nothing after my PC upgrade. I'm not adverse to buying Logic eventually though if needs be, but I won't have any of my Cubase plugins
Whats the special board?
