It's amazingly small. you can stack 5 of those and it wouldn't be bigger then a desktop machine. The only thing that I change is adding more memory to it.I can imagine using a few mac mini as a dsp farm. Logic 7 makes it really easy to use and I think Cubase has another way of doing it.

Do you think one of those alone is good enough to run Logic 7??           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

It will be as fast as a laptop because they have the same hard disk. It is a 2.5" at 4.200rpm, the slowest (in terms of rpm) of its kind.

Eh...yeah,it'll run Logic 7 it think., but you'll need a Firewire or USB-soundcard...
And it's not a G5...it's a G4 1.25 or 1.42GHz...
I'd rather buy a second hand G4 dual processor, which have much more power/expandability than a mac mini...see if u can find one cheap !!!

Good Luck

I think this is the most dumn computer apple ever create in its era. I will not agree to call it mini because you still need the chunky keyboard, monitor and power adapter. So you practically have to carry another three junks surround it and its's a mess. So powerbook is still the best choice and gossip says that in the begginning of summer the G5 power book will reach the mac-addict like me, just can't wait.
But anyway this Mac "Mini" is good for pc desktop user that would love to try discover the mac because the pc users already have the keyboard and monitor, so for this purpose, this little box will serve the user with its magic. Its a market things, blah blah.. Unless the purposes are different.          founder http://www.enkienterprise.com

daya, creating such a small computer by keeping the power supply out of it is a great idea and a good opportunity for people to afford a mac.

It's a great idea in my opinion.

About G5 powerbooks this summer - let's hope.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

@psyx: nice link, nice features... But did u know that that already exists since the dawn of networking? We IT-ers call that a 'kluster' of pc's, and sharing load equally between computers is called 'load balancing', u can do it with windows, linux, unix, BeOS, mac,... U just have to know how... What logic does is make a kluster of your network of macs... But if u know ur networking, u can make a kluster with any kind of computer, but i don't think u can mix OS's... A lot of spyware uses kluster technology to abuse the processor power of thousands of computers at the same time to do d-dos attacks and such... Or for scientific research that requires a lot of processing power... Examples of klusters are everywhere!! But now i'll stop, cuz i'm completely off topic...

Very nice that little mac... I would buy it for a livingroom inet machine if i was a mac user

The thing people overlook is how pathetically underpowered the the Mac Mini is.

Yeah, Mac mini is not for audio. It's not even as powerful as the top of the line powebooks, and it only holds one gig of ram.
