Hello, praecox,
Waves & logic 6 pro : you have a translater software for use the waves plug in into logic.
No infos for TC.
for side chain, i think, is very easy when you have the translator soft, in the same way of your regulars plug by logic.

1. About the VST to AU Adapter
==============
This adapter is a tool for allowing you to run your OS X (Carbon CFM and Mach-O) VST plug-ins under AudioUnit-compatible apps such as Logic Audio 6, Rax, Synthtest and others - it should also work with forthcoming AU-compatible apps like Digital Performer 4, Peak 4 and Soundtrack; if you're on the beta programme for any of these apps, please test it even if you're not allowed to tell us whether it works or not <grin>. The adapter works seamlessly by creating "virtual Audio Units" on-the-fly, which then behave just like a real AU in your host application.
It will not, and probably never will, allow you to run OS 8/9 VST plug-ins on an OS X system; nor will it ever allow you to run PC VST plug-ins on your OS X system.
Please see the KNOWN ISSUES section for a list of potential bugs and problems we already know about. These will be addressed as soon as is reasonably possible.
2. What's new in v1.10.01
=============
* Plex and HALion String Player now work
* YellowTools Culture now works
* Midi-enabled effects plugins (Autotune, Magenta, Orange Vocoder, Voice Machine) now supported
* Crash when loading FXB banks fixed
* "Try to reduce host app load times" is working again
* assorted tweaks and fixes
* Waldorf PPG 2.V remembers its settings properly
* Web-enabled registration popup (optional!)
3. Using the adapter
==============
This adapter is set up using the VstAuConfigure application. The application looks for plug-ins in a folder called "Vstplugins" next to the app, and also in the system VSTplugins folder (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vst) and the user's VSTplugins folder (~home/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vst).
The config application is pretty straightforward - controls are as follows.
DETECT AND CONVERT VST PLUG-INS - scan the Vstplugins folders for OS X VST plug-ins, and create virtual AudioUnits for any found
REMOVE CONVERTED VST PLUG-INS - removes any virtual AUs created by the adapter
CREATE AUDIOUNITS IN (Global library, User library) - sets whether the app creates the virtual AUs in the system plugin library (for all users) or the current user's library (just for this user). Depending on how your Mac is set up, you may get error messages when this is set to Global - if that is the case, try switching to User.
PRINT EXTRA DIAGNOSTICS AND LOG TO CONSOLE - sets the level of messages that the config utility prints out in the status window, and whether or not they are printed to the system console. Set to ON if you have problems with the config utility crashing, or other error messages, and send your console log to FXpansion Tech Support.
TRY TO REDUCE HOST APP LOAD TIMES (Off, On) - enables/disables a function which allows the virtual AUs to load faster than they otherwise would. This function is useful if you have a lot of VST plugs that you are wrapping to AU: each wrapped plug adds to the load time for apps such as Logic Audio, and with a lot of big plugs installed it can get very slow to launch. This feature, when switched on, minimizes the overhead associated with this, but it's possible that it may crash some hosts. Note that this setting in the config app only applies to virtual AUs that are created during that session of the config app - to apply it to all your virtual-AUs, use the Clean AU Folders function to start from scratch first.
CONVERT NEWLY INSTALLED PLUGINS ONLY (Off, On) - when switched on, the config utility checks your AU folders to see if the wrapped plugin already exists before it tries to create a new virtual-AU. When switched off, it overwrites any plugins wrapped in previous sessions.
Please note that it is not possible to quit the app via the standard means while an operation is in progress.
SCAN VSTPLUGINS FOLDER ONLY (Off, On) - when switched on, the config utility will only look in its own VSTPLUGINS folder for plugins to wrap, instead of scanning all the public VSTPLUGINS folders on the machine. This is useful if you have a lot of VST plugins but only want to AU-wrap a few of them.
3a. A note on Waveshell compatibility
=====================================
WAVES plugins have a slightly different architecture to all other VST plug-ins on the market, and as such require a degree of special support from the adapter. The adapter comes with the file WAVESHELL.TXT; it will attempt to wrap every WAVES plug-in in that list which can cause problems if some of the plug-ins are not present (e.g. you only have certain WAVES bundles - for example, you have the Gold bundle but not the Masters or Restoration bundles).
In order to prevent it from wrapping WAVES plugins that are not present on your system, please edit your WAVESHELL.TXT file, (make a backup copy first), and delete any entries that are not used on your system. So, if you don't have the Masters Bundle (Linear EQ, Linear Multiband, L2), delete the following lines:-
L2MS L2 Ultramaximizer Stereo
LQSS Linear EQ Broadband Stereo
LQSM Linear EQ Broadband Mono
LQAS Linear EQ Lowband Stereo
LQAM Linear EQ Lowband Mono
LC5S Linear Multiband Stereo
LC5M Linear Multiband Mono
then save the file. |

3b. A note on the preset-file access menus
==========================================
The "Load one" and "Load all" buttons provided by the adapter are specifically for loading .FXP and .FXB format banks provided by the VST plug-ins. "Load one" loads a single preset from a *.FXP file in to the plug-in. "Load all" loads a bank of presets from a *.FXB file in to the plug-in. To load *.PST files (Logic presets), use Logic's own preset-access menus.
Just to reiterate,
Load One: loads a single preset from an FXP file.
Load All: loads a bank of presets from an FXB file.
4. Reporting problems
==============
We hope your experience with the VST-AU Adapter is smooth and trouble-free. However, OS X is a relatively new platform; Logic 6 for OS X is a new piece of software; and many VST plugins out there simply aren't tested properly by their developers. So it's not unexpected that there may be problems, and it's important that you know what to do when you run in to them.
If you're an OS X developer or other expert, or have betatested for other companies, you'll be familiar with the drill by now, but if you're not, here goes.
OS X is THE best OS out there, bar none, when it comes to debugging and troubleshooting problems, but to help us out you need to be a little bit familiar with the tools. Please email any reports to support@fxpansion.com
First up is the Console utility in "Applications : Utilities". This is an app that gives you a window on to the inner workings of your Mac. Fear not, though, it's not that scary. Any time the adapter crashes or otherwise plays up, launch the Console utility, copy the last 20 or so lines in the console window and paste them in to an email to us.
Second is the crash logger. This can be accessed in two ways:- either from the Apple menu,
"About this Mac", "More Info...", "Logs", <appname>.crash.log,
or, on your HD at
<home_folder>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/<appname>.crash.log
(this will open up in TextEdit). Most recent crashes are always written to the bottom of the file, so you'll have to scroll down to find them. Again, anything here should be emailed to us, along with the corresponding Console info.
5. Known issues in this build
==============
* This build has not been tested with every possible plug and may not work at all, or work badly, with some that are out there. Please test widely and let us know if you run in to problematic plug-ins.
* Plugs' GUIs are unresponsive in Logic 5.5. You will need Logic 5.5.1 to use the adapter.
* The adapter is not directly backwards compatible with song settings retained in Logic for OS8/9 songs pertaining to VST plug-ins. To import your song settings you will need to:-
-- launch Logic 5 or 6 under OS 9
-- load your song
-- export the .PST (preset settings) files for the plugins, by selecting each plugin for which you want to save the presets and then using the save-settings option in Logic's plugin controls (by the Bypass button)
-- convert the .PST to a .FXB file using the MakeBank utility available here:-
http://www.kvr-vst.com/resources/MakeBank.sit
(just drag and drop the PST on to the MakeBank application)
-- now you can load your settings in to the wrapped plugins under OS X, as FXB files via the "Load All" button in the adapter's control panel.
* Editable text boxes such as those used in GForce Oddity, TC's Native Bundle, Linplug's daOrgan and others may cause crashes if you click on them to enter text and then change window focus or close the plug-in's window. Use the text boxes with caution - make sure you dismiss the text box first (with the ENTER key) before clicking on other windows etc.
* Some plugins have minor redraw issues. Plugins that have resizable windows (e.g. onscreen "keyboards" that can be hidden) are particularly affected.
* Tassman VST Demo does not work in most hosts. This appears to be due to bugs in Tassman VST itself.
* Native Instruments VOKATOR and REAKTOR's GUIs do not work. We believe this is their bug.
* Ohm Force's Quad Frohmage and AnTares' Kantos plugins may cause crashes on unloading or exiting the host application. This is due to a bug in those plugins.
* Synapse Junglist and Plucked String do not save their settings properly, and may crash on reloading. This is due to bugs in Synapse's plugins
6. HISTORY
============
What's new in v1.07.xx
=============
* Full WAVES WaveShell support (see below)

* improved compatibility with Virtual Guitarist, Groove Agent, HALion String Player, NorthPole, OrangeVocoder (and other Prosoniq plug-ins), Autotune (and other Antares plug-ins) and many others.
* improved compatibility with Logic 5.5: interfaces now draw correctly, but the mouse handling for most plugs still does not work. This is due to a bug in Logic itself - use 5.3 or 6.0.
* assorted minor bug fixes.
What's new in v1.05.02
==============
* Minor tweaks and changes to scanner app
* To discourage illegal copying of virtual AudioUnits created by the adapter, the virtual AUs now check for the presence of the configuration utility in its install location, as well as the wrapped VST plugin.
What's new in v1.05.01
==============
* FINAL RELEASE v1
* Completely rewrote scanning functionality, made it faster and more user friendly
* Fixed mono->stereo support
* Improved redraw
* VST plugins are now loaded from original location
* Fixed a bug causing synths to show up twice
SORRY FOR BIG TEXT, & enjoy
