its almost like on pc I think
the whole t-rackS stuff is still pretty nice imo, the sonalksis multiband cq & dq, for limiters I would highly recommend psp xenon, and also psp neon hr is a very good eq. or if you want some tape saturation, steven masseys tapehead is defenately a good option, and free. besides that, there is also lots of other plugins and the usual stuff like waves etc.
oh, and some logic plugins are also not bad at all for mastering, like the compressor in vca mode or the adaptive limiter.

The adaptive limiter and Multi-Pressor that come w/ Logic are over the top powerful for analogue type sounds. |

Think the compressor in Logic pro is quite decent, I also use the PSP Vintage warmer sometimes. I am not a fan of the adaptive limiter in Logic, I do miss the WAVES L1, L2, L3 series.
For mastering the Powercore MD3 is good once you get to grips with it. The UAD-1 with Fairchild compressor is also great for mastering. Logic Multipressor seems quite good to me, dont know it that well yet.
For killer live set, you could have each of your tracks mastered professionally and then pop the masters into Ableton Live.

dude, looking at the Sonnox website it seems like the plugins are compatible with Mac and Windows, VST and AU (and also RTAS).
Shouldn't be a problem to work with these on your mac DAW.
or did I miss something there? |

@ cytopia - if your playing mastered waves for the live set when u put in live elements using a different mastering chain/and or plugins/hardware ie that is one used by the sound engineer, its not going to fit in as well...
theres a notion around that playing proffesionally mastered waves is not playing live.... i think its because if your track already has all the elemts in mastered, your doing nothing live per se, just fx work.. i guess also this depends how you have your live set up.... |

True, I did not think of that. I do know some people who play mastered waves in Live and do trigger samples, not sure how it's set up though.
