yes freefreak you are right 
the first mindshare was made from different people
as far as i know it was Marian (who owns now Dropout
Productions with her husband) and some friends
thats what i heard...
and then Moe took the idea along and made the second
one in mt.shasta...
by the way the first Mindshare was in Mercy Hot Springs
a infamous partyplace among sf trancers.
had one of my best Goa Gil parties there
and another thing you are pointing out right!
Where is GOW or Meteloids at least a track from Jahbo
he was on both parties.
So it looks more like a local sf comp

uhh....sort of.
the original mind share was thrown on Beltane 2003 by a band of misfit sorceresses known at the time as: psychedelic transmissions.
the party was going to be thrown by the love projectors.....who really when we get down to it, were the same damn people....but the love projector name was then dedicated to vigilante crime fighting.
The name MindShare had been floating around in my head for awhile as I remember. It was sort of a silicon valley buzz term around the late 90s, implying the shares (as in stock holdings) of people's mind's you had for a particular product or idea....or in other words how many times you could get someone to think about something in a day.
It sort of occured to me that this had a lot fluoro memetic potential because of it's obvious telepathic implications. If one considers the aforementioned, pr etymology of the term and it's latent and strangely paradoxically inverse ethical relationship to the preexisting subcultural metastructure and you have a pretty good idea of why I thought the name was a good idea....
....so it got suggested at the party planning meeting and it sort of grew a life of it's own from there.

Hi everyone!
Yup you are all right...
The first Mindshare was not a M.o.e party- in fact it was even before M.o.e existed- but it was a huge reason why M.o.E was born in the first place.
The original party was held as Ghreg said on Beltane at Mercy Hotsprings and was organized by Psychedelic Trancemission (which Marian from Dropout Productions was a part of and Lars was involved too!)
The first party was much bigger than the second, GOW and Meteloids played at a time when barely anyone even knew who they were- and they literally blew everyone away!! There were all kinds of crazy things going on- from weather to triple rainbows and other majikal things!
The second Mindshare was building on the tradition the first party started. It featured Jahbo and a few other of the same artists that played at the first mindshare. It was held up near Mt Shasta at Stewart Mineral Springs and had many synchronicities with the first party- even down to the rainbows.
The two parties were obviously very different experiences. But to participants of both- they are legendary- each for their own reasons. And they are a great example of the unique and majikal feeling that sometimes occurs in Northern California parties.
We asked Meteloids and GOW if they could give us a track for this compilation- but sadly they were both busy working on different projects and couldn't contribute!
We feel that the tracks on this compilation convey some of the majik we experienced at both events, and hope that when you listen to it- you will feel it too!
Big thank yous to all that helped create Mindshare and Mindshare II

We wish MoE the best with this release! and thanks for keeping the spirit alive!
As it happens, Psychedelic Trancemission was made of 3 women geared toward the deep energy and MoE continued that trend!
and thanks, GregOnEarth for refreshing our memories of the Tranceparent College and Mindshare - I remember, coming up with those was fun! and educational too!
