M-audio studiophile or Alesis MI MK2?

After reading all the threads about monitors and looking around i find m-audio studiophile or alesis m1 mk2 the ones suit my budget for my personal studio, i use a lap top with a echo indigo soundcard. so wich do you recommend. |

i have those monitors and they're quite good in overall. i dont know about your sound card but shure those monitors are very suitble for near field referene speackers, very good for production

they are both good ones .. but the best u can doo its .. go the the store retailer .. ad ask im to hear something from the sound monitor and compare them with yout own hears .. just does can give u a exact opinion

before i got my monitors i did lots of research and leg work, best is to listen and compare, i didn't like both of those monitors but it's just me, everyone's prefernces are different .
alesis have a manufaturing failure and some percent of mk2's come out with a fucked up left speaker, be careful .

I have m-audio BX7 monitors, booooming basss, nice configuration options, and and overall sound. A year ago, while working, suddenly one monitor ceased sound (looping signal)  send it to repair, and some mid piano freq´s makes my tweeter sound distorted (I don´t know how to say it), anyway I still work with them...
A friend has Alesis mk2, and they r behaving quite well !
I even like the way they sound |

you should wait to have more money man ,it s hard for someone like me and maybe like you to find good monitors , if you listen to lot of monitors you ll like the one that have the best sound but the better are the one that have a good frequncy response... dont know if you see what i mean , but check the fostex pm1 , i think there are better than alesis , i own them and i m very happy for that price |
