M-Audio Radium velocity problem

Hi friends,
I have bought a new M-audio Radium 49. Something strange happens: The black keys seem to react more sensitive on pressure than the white ones do. The result is that the black tones' velocities are always a bit higher than the velocities of the white tones. Strange, isn't it? I connected the keyboard to the PC via midi-cable, usb is used only for power-supply (because some trouble occured with latency and "hanging" tones when connected via usb).

Does anybody know this problem? Any ideas how to solve it?

thanx in advance,

I got the radium 61 myself, but I've never experience anything like that. As mr. Flake said, you better talk with the people you got it from.
Good luck.           ________________________

I use the keyboard as well and haven't noticed anything. Can you give an example of the conditions and software under which you are experiencing this problem so I could try to duplicate and check??           ELECTRON EYES / MARK-EVAN (NOR. CAL)

Go to yyour preferences. I dont remember exactly where in it but you got some numbers which u can increase and decrease for sensitivity. It surely works. I had the problem but I fixed it with that.

Thank you! I`ll try what MDazed suggested and if if doesn't work I'll write Thomann.

Metrolab, I use XP/ SX2, the Radium is connected via MIDI-Cable. I open a synth like Albino, just basic set with only one saw, nothing else. I route a midi-track to it and then I play the keyboard and try to hit the keys with the same pressure and record that. I can hear the difference while I play (volume) and later see it in the editor (velocity). The velocity of the black keys will always be app. 10 "points" higher than the white keys. The velocity of the Radium itself is set to 0, different values don't solve the prob.

Maybe I sell my complete equipment and learn to play the harp instead... then I can forget those technical problems ;-)           www.myspace.com/mentris

OK martyn. I recorded MIDI with SX and Albino and I noticed nothing unusual about the key sensitivity. The MIDI data seemed to respond appropriately to changes in pressure. Maybe there is another problem then.

But I did have a problem recently with SX3 and Albino. An 8th note triplet arpeggio I sequenced seemd to fall out of timing around the 4th measure - repeatedly. So far I've had intermittent success correcting it with 1 second of pre-roll before record playback. But I've heard there is some sort of MIDI timing problem that has yet to be fixed in an SX update.

Good luck.           ELECTRON EYES / MARK-EVAN (NOR. CAL)
