Dagas, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad I chose the evolution in front of it

I used Edirol and Evolution... Edirol is a good controller in my opinon... but I prefer Evolution... but its a personal choice, based only in diversity and control position...

By the way, im waiting for my own evolution... hehe.

Best Regards,

Fred

hello all. i hope i am not late in this thread, but i think its time i buy a keyboard. i was looking at the oxygen 8 and evolution also. after reading this, i think evolution is what i will go with.

not the 461C though, im thinking about the cheaper one the 449C. it seems to be the baby 461C and the reviews i read make it sound very nice has anyone had any experience with a 449C?

sorry if i hijack! now to find some monitors, $25 speakers doesnt cut it!

pH_ : no problem, hijack as much as you like

I've done some quite heavy research before I settled for the evolution 461c. I did some google searching and I only found positive comments and reviews of the evolution. The differences between the 461 and the 449 is the amount of keys (61 - 49) and that yours is tightened down with the knobs/sliders. But I'm pretty sure you'll be all happy with that one too. Good luck with everything!

Ok. So I'm buying a controller. Wich one shall I go for? the Evolution MK 449C or the E-MU Xboard 49?
Both looks nice, with the evolution I get 8 knobs and 8 sliders, and with the E-MU I get 16 knobs but no sliders.
Wich one shall I buy?
any tips`?

Hey Speggey!

Welcome to the board! I'm a real novice when it comes to MIDI controller keyboards so my reply might be quite uneccesary. All I can say is that I've had my evolution mk-461c for a couple of days by now and I'm totally satisfied with it. It contains all the features of my needs so for the money I spent I couldn't be more satisfied. BUT, how could a novice like me with no pre-experience complain?

Greetings from Malmö!

i love my mk-449C... But i mainly bought it because it has a perfect slider-config for organs like the hammond B3 (in my case, the virtual NativeInstruments B4). Otherwise i would have thought about it longer, and i would probably wait untill i had money to buy an X-station

I have the pcr50 which is handy in the studio but i plan to get the novation remote25 which seems better for quick preset changes in live situations. hope this helps           Peace Love Unity & Respect for the World !

Speggey,

knobs or sliders ? it dependes of what u want to do man...

I prefer, for playing and for producing, a controller with diferent types of buttons, so u can decide how to use it - u have freedom to chose it.

Last weekend I played in a party with a Midi controller only with knobs. And i don´t like it! Sliders are more precise and easy to use when u work on a channel master, for example.

This is my opinion, hope I helped.

Best regards,

Fred
