I bought this new controller to replace another cheap novation I had because I liked the feel of the M-Audio's keys and knobs. Bought it in store at Guitar Center, I take the thing home and follow the instructions of "installing" it, which it basically is supposed to do itself from plugging it in, and when I open Acid it crashes my computer.
Black screen, totally frozen.
I went to the M-Audio site and downloaded and installed the latest drivers.
Now it doesn't freeze my computer but it isn't being recognized by Acid or FL.

Any ideas?

idea1: system (sp, firmware, update, vista?)
idea2: give it back!
idea3: get small midi interface (20e) and connect via that - i had to do that too with my m-audio ozone (a lot of crashes and relaunches etc...)
idea4:check other sequencer or standalone synths

good luck

I'm using XP with all proper service packs and updates.
Sorry but returning isn't an option, it isn't the product that is faulty, just how it works with my particular computer
I could connect it through a sound card but I'd rather not for the sake of low latency and other things.
Thanks for the ideas though.

Try uninstalling all the software, running a registry cleaner like CCleaner and then reinstalling the newest version.

Does it show up in the Windows device manager?

When I turn it on two show up (M-Audio O2 USB Driver, M-Audio O2 USB MIDI Driver)

I'll try the CCleaner thing though, thanks
