Hi, I just bought the m-audio audiophile firewire soundcard and it doesn't work properly :s
I've downloaded the lastest drivers, cold-plugged installed everything properly. the soundcard works for about an hour and then the computer can't find it anymore. What should I do to keep it working? |

Thanks for the quick replies. The links didn't reallyhelp me wuase the people who have the same problem aren't helped out either so it seems (scary thought that this won't go away :s).
pavel: no, I don't have it cause it won't work on my euhm... version of xp. Could this be the problem? What can I do to fix it? (downloading sp2 really doesn't work :s ) |

A friend of mine had a problem with Firewire card. In the tech. support he was asked to upgrade to SP2. A miracle appeared and the card works perfectly... Try to ehm handle it somehow.

Strangely enough the problem seemed to be the power supply!! It's running for hours now without disconnecting. What was the problem? They put a 12v euhm how do you call it.. source? transformer (lol)? with it. I did some searching and found out you don't need it when your hooked up with a 6pin firewire. So I just pulled the plug and magic-oh-joy it gets fed by the computer.
Seems like my pc was just being a bitch for not being able to feed the extra hardware it got, it got jealous. Maybe that was the answer to the strange virgin-theory? Not being taken from behind by another electric source? |

hm i had an m-audio audiophile usb and the soundcard keeps "crashing", with that i mean suddenly no sound comes out anymore. the problem is not in the os or drivers, it has something to do with the power supply: it happens when the air dryer or the heating goes on.
m-audio thought they can ignore my support email.
greetings! |

yeh i had the same problem, its because u have the firewire connected when ur installing the drivers.
disconnect everything from the firewire ports, uninstall it. reinstall the driver, shut down, reconnect audiophile firewire, reboot, itl find ur hardware then it will install more drivers, it should work after that. |

Am haveing a proplem with mine too... the encoders have a really wierd response (very glitchy), have tried everything on this thread and customer support seemed to think it was an irq conflict but all seems well there... Any more ideas?? Oh and it wont seem behave as my computers main sound card for running DVD's to sample down (though thats probably through my incompetence)
Thanks |
