Hi,

What do you guys think of Lyctum's bass sound ?

Arguably the phattest Bass out there!!

What do you guys think is the magic behind this ?

The closest I got to recreate such a bass line is with a Filter Delay trick to delay L and R channels by about 15 ms.

Also, Use:

- Sine wave for the sub bass that you boost a lot by about 4-5 dB.
- Saw wave for the mid body of the bass, LP filter at about 400Hz.
- A little percussive sound for high top body of the bass, something like a little 'pluck' sound.

it was discussed here some times, afaik its the u-he phaser on the bass chanel but dunno what settings

try it with a phaser of your choice, just make sure there is no lfo of the phaser involved, you'll get at least something similar           https://soundcloud.com/noordzee-laborant

Uhbik Phaser in manual mode, mix 100 %, frequency and feedback at zero.

you will have harder time to make something that sound close than just making something that sound as good or better... listen what you like in that sound, analyze it ..and go your way..

Yeah, the Uhbik Phaser can be a useful tool indeed, especially, when it comes 'phatteing up' sounds. It's ot only capable of making bass sounds more interesting, but kicks as well

Another trick to add chunkiness to your basslines is to add a few of the Waves L3-LL Multi-Stereo instances to your channel.
