Add a vocoder on your bass and you should be on the right track

Maybe you can ask Lyctum himself. I once spoke with him about production. Look at his Facebook and write him an E-Mail. Make sure you tell us all what he tells you

tone 2 has good stuff for really "crisp" kinda basslines like that, sometimes phase or some slight fm modulation works well.

Yes, "just like that", so it functions as an band filter eq |

I have to admit: I don't know. My understanding of what exactly happens is very limited. I just know the symptoms, sorry <:)
I have, however, checked on the Uhbik-P Makus referred to and indeed, you can get a bass such as the one Lyctum used, in no time.
And since Uhbiik-P seems to work this way (allpass filters, phase rotation) and a resembling sound can be achieved using a vocoder without any other carrier sound but the modulating sound itself (i.e. the bass), I guess it's the same principle.
So the answer to your question would be: yes. |

when i slap abletons vocoder on by itself - huge surprise! - is sounds like ass...
noise is the default carrier. maby thats why? if i set it to modulator (no input) there is a slight allpass effect, but it doesnt sound good 100% wet, and if theres any dry signal mixed with an allpass you will get comb filtering.
also accoriding to this vocoders use several tuned BandPass not AllPass filters? idk
